Nice to have blackjack in the north metro, finally!

Here's the scoop. Pen is somewhat dealer dependent, usually about 1.5/6 from what I saw, I did glance at a shoe that had deep penetration, but that was on a $25 table.

Mid Shoe entry is restricted to flat betting at table minimum. When I was there on a Saturday night, there was no single regular blackjack table with a limit below $10. The table limit signs were all yellow, would be nice if they were color coded as they are also kind of hard to read.

They did have this $5 "bonus BJ" game which required a 50 cent ante for each hand... I didn't take a very close look at it.

It was pretty much all 6 deck from what I saw.

Typical rules, H17, DOA, DAS. I wish I would have asked about RSA, but I would be surprised if they didn't allow it, as most casinos in MN now allow that. Double the table min required for playing 2 hands, triple for 3.

Judging from the Mid Shoe entry rule, I am going to speculate that there is potential for heat. I didn't stay long, I had one great shoe and left.

All things being equal I'd prefer to play at Mystic or Grand Casino any night, but it is so close I will probably spend more time there. More or less the same as Canterbury's, which I only play when I am there for horse races, because otherwise I'll just go down the road to Mystic Lake's vastly superior game.

Yeah, I think the card room's been up for a couple weeks or so. Looks real nice if you're into poker. I think they had 25 tables in the casino games area, about half and half blackjack/carnival games.

More info:

RSA is not allowed, much to the dismay of a guy who got his split ace aced. Twice.

The PC said that you don't have to flat bet table minimum as long as you talk to the floor first. He's never had any reason to refuse, he said.

Saw some better pen, more like 1-1.25 decks.

They have only been open for less than a month....how much info can you get out of that statement?

Anybody know what those white lights in the table next to the betting circles are?
That's what I wanted to know! Maybe it keeps track of hands played, bets, etc so they know how much "commission" to take out of their "non banked" game.

The games there are a waste of time. This place is not even a year old and they must be suffering major financial problems already as now they have closed their semi formal restaurant at night. In fact, it is only open for lunch now. They still serve a limited menu at night but you have to go to the bar to order it and just not as convenient. Im not sure if this place is going to sink or swim I guess when the racing season starts up again in the spring things should get better.

Stopped by this place today. Crowded tables, shitty rules, and 2 decks cut off makes for one heck of a game. Dont all you rush there at once! It is nonsmoking and very nice inside however.
