Video Blackjack = Rip Off

#1
I observed someone playing blackjack on a multi-game slot machine. Noticed they got dealt a blackjack and saw that they got paid even money. Then I noticed there was no option to double down or split. They had to hit a pair of aces. The rules said that the dealer hits soft 17, it's 8 decks and it's shuffled every hand. Quite possibly the worst blackjack game I ever saw, which shouldn't even be called blackjack. They were betting a quarter a hand.

I would estimate a 10% house edge. This is outright robbery. One could lose less per hour playing at a full $25 table than at this one armed bandit.

Not only 10% house edge, add the cost advantage of not maintaining dealer, no shuffles, faster hands and what not. It is a rip -off. And do not tell me that you see ploppies sitting on these too all the time

I've never seen a game offered with those options. Most allow splitting and some doubling. not all are shuffled after every hand either.
Some of these games are pretty decent, especially if you attack them with free play.

It was at Ballys AC at one of those multiple game VP machines. I know not all video blackjack machines are that bad. There are some which are S17 DOA DAS 6D at $5 which shuffle every hand.

that video blackjack sounds so so bad. I think slot machines have better odds then that . I found a video blackjack with 4 decks, 50% pen. 3:2, doa, s17, and some other things. min $1 max $150.

Wow, that's a nice beatable game even with only 50% pen. You can spread 1-150 and get no heat since it's a machine. I wish I found a machine like that since I would sit at it all day long.

The shuffle takes place when the dealer changes. They have machines in Ct. Not sure where they are in Vegas!!

I live in Australia, they are pretty common. I hardly play them with a big enough BR.

50% pen is crap but i have worked out how to make it reshuffle when i want it to. IF there is no money in the terminals it reshuffles. It only takes notes. So some nights when i got nothing better to do i will have 5 or 6 five dollar notes when the count is negative i will collect and it reshuffles, So in theory you never have to play a hand with a negative count.

Tonight the TC got to 5, i was freaking out...

Lots of fun if you want to win enough money for a few drinks

Well all i meant was that when the count gets -2 i will pull my money out, collecting it as a money ticket, then i place another note in the terminal. If i am the only one playing the mechean then it will cancel the current shoe and generate a new one.

If you took that to the extreme and when ever the RC reached -1 after a hand you could cancel the shoe and it would generate a new one.

I talk about the shufflemaster machine at my home casino,
the rules and the silicon titted ladies look nice, but for
my statistics theese bastards pay out only 70-80 percent out of
what You bet.
make longtime stats with min. bets.
I will never play there again. Before cut off my fingers.
