Did you ever leave your BR in a non-secure location?

Recently got home from a short BJ trip. Most of the time, I was wearing shorts, but early in the morning it was cool, so I put long pants on. I transferred the contents of my pockets from the shorts to the long pants in the morning, prior to heading out for my day's casino adventures.

When I got back to my hotel room about noon to put shorts back on, I did the reverse pocket transfer. The pocket of my long pants with the bulk of my day's bankroll was empty. Did someone pickpocket me? Did it fall out somewhere?

As I picked my shorts up off the bed, where they were all morning, I felt something in the pocket. Sure enough, a thick wad of Benjamins that I missed in the transfer. So, it sat on the hotel bed all morning, and fortunately was still there (no maid service that day as it was checkout day). Whew...

I have a friend who went into the bathroom in a California casino, took off his fanny pack & draped it across the toilet paper rack; and FORGOT it! He came back in total panic 10 minutes later, but by then it was gone. Twenty Grand! He was - and still is, such a trusted member of the team; that the team leader absolved him of all blame and decided to eat the loss himself. Horrible story however...

I am a very fair and tolerant person, but that would not be acceptable to me on my team. If your job is to handle money, its your responsibility to handle with care. I understand we all make mistakes, and its honorable to own up to them, but they still come with consequences.

And I agree. Had it been MY team, I doubt that I could have been so generous. I would've probably made him pay it back out of his future winnings, a little at a time. Or, had it been ME that lost the money, I would have INSISTED that I had to somehow pay it back.

My money carrying apparatus does not have to be removed when using the bathroom, in any mode. It also can't be reached by someone reaching under the stall.

Even worse than money, a disturbing number of guns are left in restrooms in the same fashion.

Worst I ever did with a BR- left it in my pants, and took them to the laundromat. You could see the cash spinning through the glass of the front-loading machine. Needless to say, I heeded the sign on the wall and was there when the cycle ended!

I "launder" money sometimes. If I stick my bankroll under my socks because I'm walking through a bad neighborhood, I will put the money in a slot machine and cash out a coupon without playing. I feel bad if the dealers touch my dirty money.

A good size book could be written just with stories of money being forgotten or misplaced. Sometimes people get it back, and sometimes not.

I know one guy who left 20 or 30k in the back of a cab. They contacted the cab company, the police etc. but the cab driver said he never saw it. The team hired a private investigator and eventually the PI turned it up buried in the cab driver's back yard.

2 of my teammates were driving from Vegas to LA. They stopped in Barstow about midnight. Anyone who has made this drive knows Barstow and that it is quite windy. They got out of the car and they see what looks like leaves blowing in the wind. One guy says, "Holy ****, that's a hundred dollar bill." When they had opened the 2 doors there had been a stack of about 10k in the back seat with no rubber band and the wind just started blowing the money out of the car and into the desert. They ran around for about 20 minutes in the dark, and did manage to recover every bill.

Wow, this is remarkable.. I wonder how it would be if there are homeless people lying there..

I was once at ballys playing where the 6d nms games are currently.

I collored up, walked to the cage, waited in line, got payed, walked in the bathroom, next to it, took a crap, was about to put my coat on to leave when I realised I left it on the chair at the bj table. With an extra 5k in my extra wallet inside it. It was still there though

Either the cabbie bragged about his big score to too many people or that is one really good PI.

I had a $25 chip fall out of my pocket while at the table.

It was the most pissed off I was in a while

I went back but it wasn't there anymore

I also had a $1 chip fall out one time, but I didn't really give a crap about that and didn't even go back to look for it.

When I carry $500+ chips I check about every 2 minutes to make sure I still got em.

Playing poker at Bally's in AC is quite dangerous in the wee hours of the morning. They don't have a cashier available and often times won't color you up, so you have to make a long trek to the cage on the main floor. During that time, anyone could bump into you and your chips could fly out of the rack and be gone in an instant.

Do you feel safe with casino surveillance?

As much as we hate surveillance at the tables, what about away from the tables?

When you're walking to your car with $20k bankroll in your pockets, socks, under you hat, or where ever you stick it, do you feel safe because the parking lot has cameras?

There are some sketchy ghetto-licious casino parking lots where I don't feel safe ever.

In every casino where I'VE ever been, they've always been more than happy to assign a security guard to escort you to your car, if you ask for one. (If you utilize this suggestion, don't forget to toke the guy! :))

With some of the "Security Guards" I've seen out there, I think my 95 year old grandfather could defend me better than a lot of them. I'll remain on the cautious side and if need be my black belt may be needed.

Always pays to be careful of your surroundings.

Leave with others - there always seems to be people leaving the casino. If not, wait until others are leaving too.

Park in a well lit, well traveled, highly visible area.

Don't flash the cash, especially after cashing out. You watched as they counted it (probably atleast twice) don't walk away from the cage doing it yourself. If you have to count it find a stall.

Don't forget those tablemates either who watched you color up a bundle.
