what are the limits in Melbourne casinos?

#1
Hi I heard there are a couple of good casinos in Melbourne Im currently in Sydney and was disappointed with how star city had no low tables for beginners like me and then all continuous shuffle machines!

Anyone have any suggestions on good places a beginner like me should go? or am I out of luck!?

Copy pasted from one of my previous posts

$5 min with 6-5 BJ from a 6 deck CSM
$15 min 3-2 BJ from a 6 deck CSM
$15 min 6-5 BJ from a 8 deck shoe.

Also there is only ONE casino in Melbourne

There are $25 tables that have 8 deck shoes with 3-2 BJ but for a spread you need a large bankroll (which it doesn't sound like you have)

If you are in Sydney now you may want to visit Canberra casino.
I haven't been there a couple of years now but I think they have $5 tables. Also it is more orderly and relaxing than Starcity. I wouldn't play 6:5 BJs - they are a rip-off.

hi gamex!

ya I went back to star city again all day today for my last adventure in Sydney before I leave for Melbourne tomorrow.
They actually had a lot more open lower limit tables today and they are all 3 to 2 just so you know. It is the same in Canberra I was there over christmas I didnt play but I watched.
Also I know this has nothing to do with counting or anything cause its impossible at star city unless your playing the private room but, what are you thoughts on if you have extra should you play the pairs bet? or just completely stay away from that?

I am not a PP player and don't know much about this side bet. However my opinion is not to play any side bets, unless for fun ofcourse. I think they all have one thing in common: (rare) high thrills with terrible HEs!

If interested go back to the main discussion page for Aus there is some exciting and in-depth discussions about playing PPs.

BTW if possible please post some updates about playing conditions, shoe / CSMs etc at Crown.

Good luck.
