I find it quite amusing that there are still people waiting to play at the $5 table (CSM), especially since the last time I was there there were about 6 shoe tables at $15-$25 min with no one playing at them.

Hey Gun Lake: Get a clue and lower your minimums! No one wants to play your horrible games with high minimums! You're managed by Station Casinos so why don't you get a clue and put in a decent double deck game like Station Casinos is famous for? Make your Game King video poker JOB machines 9/6, not 8/5, 7/5, or 6/5 like you have now. Start treating your customers with respect! Hire dealers that can add 2+2. Scratch that one. Dealer mistakes are the only reason to play there! Do the above and maybe you'll get some repeat business, but you're going to die a very quick death if you don't take action immediately. You are already the laughing stock of midwest casinos!

It's really difficult for me to criticize this casino from a capitalistic perspective. Reading several reviews on the OPs link above, there seemed to be layers of players waiting to hop on the 5 buck BJ table and there are several reviews indicating that this casino is always crowded.

If there are people dumb enough to play there often enough that the casino has paid off its debt and taxes already, more power to them.

If I opened a casino I'd have a ton of $5 BJ tables with a CSM and pay 6 to 5 on BJ and those tables would be packed!

Idiots!

Heh. Those reviews were written shortly after the casino first opened. Now it's not crowded at all, at least not during the daytime hours. All kinds of high minimum open tables with bored dealers who should be passing the time trying to sharpen up on their basic math skills.

This casino is right smack-dab in the middle of penny pinching Dutch country. These Hollanders may be frugal but they're not stupid. They know they can find much better games with much friendlier personel and much better comps just an hour or 2 away in any direction. If this were the only casino in say a 200 mile radius you may be right in your assessment, but there are all kinds of comeptition in the area and even more casinos are being built and planned within easy driving distance. Their days of gouging the consumer are going to end soon one way or another.

Gun Lake was voted 3rd best casino in West Michigan! But there are ONLY 3 in West Michigan:laugh:
Yeah, and the buffet at Soaring Eagle was voted the best buffet in America. Must have been voted that from a weight loss perspective!
