This is one of those things that just practically doesn't matter.

1) You get dealt 77 very infrequently, as opposed to hands like hard 16 or TT. So any mistakes made on this hand aren't going to have a significant overall effect on your game.

2) When you have the most money out in high counts, you're going to be more likely to bust your hard 14 by hitting, and the dealer is more likely to bust his stiff. So even if it's an altered BS hit against some dealer upcards, there's probably a pretty low index where it reverts to normal BS.


Before pondering your question, I would ask myself 100 times over why I'm playing a D11 game.

I believe you would hit the 77 against 8 and higher still. But, this rule is worth almost nothing, not even a tenth of a percent.
