As reported by CNN headline news this morning the Wynn is suing the NBA for specified amounts. I geuss the players think they don't have to pay to play and not cough up the change when they lose. I don't think any of us here would get away with this in a heartbeat. blackchipjim

Wynn is not sueing the NBA. He is sueing Alonzo Mourning and several NBA players for not paying for services incurred over the infamous NBA All-Star weekend from a few years ago.The NBA was included in the original court papers but those have been amended.
It appears Mourning and his people misrepresented an activity that was going to occur in space rented at The Wynn as being an official NBA sponsored charity event when in fact it was run by The Alonzo Mourning Foundation and the foundation forgot to pay the bill for the space it rented, and the rooms and expenses of numereous players that it invited.
All just a silly misunderstanding.Mourning figured that the fantastic publicity the NBA All Star game bought to Wynn more than offset a couple hundred grand in hotel bills, and figured they were even.

What Alonzo may have need to do

If Alonzo can lose (and pay his loses) in the amounts that Sir Charles can lose, then perhaps Wynn would have comped this deal or at least given him a big discount.

The Alonzo Mourning Foundation rented the Wynn Convention Center for a night and booked upwards of 30 suites. Its all just a silly misunderstanding.Happens all the time.Haven't you ever checked out of your hotel and not examined your bill closely, only to later find you were charged for a phone call or something. Same thing here, just on a slightly bigger scale.
