You are right it is single deck know, I never play it there any more i just play the 6 deck game. It used to be double deck. I go there alot because its only a 20 minute flight and the girls I go with love the pool and beaches. Won big there many times, but like we said comps suck, room only, and drinks at pool usually compted taken off bill at end of trip but thats it. But the pool is amazing and good place to relax and enjoy!!! Lots of celebs there played with Carmelo Anthony, Barkley, and lots of others at tables there.

I played with a whole bunch of celeb’s there during the week when they have the Pro-Am Golf Tournament. Movie Stars and Pro Athletes.

Michael Jordan, had a nightly private table — where he would play every round with every spot several thousand dollars each.

His losses were monumental and the casino would NOT close until he stopped playing.

I've learned a lot and ... my blackjack budget increased ... .
Although the earnings from [blackjack] didn't fully cover the cost of the vacation, it's okay. We blackjack players enjoy vacations just as much as everyone else. ... I don't see any discrepancies.
Thanks. You can see how this can be confusing. You stayed in $600 rooms and want $800 rooms at The Cove (plus gourmet food at least $200/person/day). Comps would be more valuable to you than your $1500 in winnings.

The point is your trip report makes it sound like Atlantis is a profitable trip. But to recover cost of the room and food, you would need to ruin your vacation by spending your whole trip playing. The lesson is that Atlantis is an expensive vacation with nice restaurants and water slides. If you can afford to bet big then you can subsidize the trip with comps and EV. But it is not a good alternative for the budget-concious traveller.

Work on those comps (play slow outdoor blackjack on a windy day)! You should get mailers for future rooms. Also, you can visit Dune at the One and Only Ocean Club and charge it to your room.

Arctic Inferno,

First off, congratulations on your nice win. Always great to return from a relaxing vacation with some well-deserved earnings.

We were in Cable Beach in early 2009, and I was unaware of the issue regarding playing unrated. Yes, the casino is tiny, but I didn't find the game unplayable, particularly in the hi-limit room. But the times, I guess they are a changin'. At the very least, it provided a viable option on the island. As for the physical plant . . . well, Cable Beach is no Paradise Island, and the Wyndham is no Atlantis . . . but then again, few things are, having stayed there twice :) We actually stayed at the Sheraton next door; it was hard to turn away four free nights.

Well, I'm happy that you found Nobu to be a hit :) Believe me, I know how precious every hour is on vacation, and am sorry that Crystal Palace did not match your expectations.

Days passes to Atlantis are sometimes available for up to $110 per adult. But here are some tricks. The Dig acquarium is free after 7:00 (no attendant). Guests at Comfort Suites get free Atlantis privileges. I think they get four bracelets per room, so there should be extras.

Read TripAdvisor forums for more info.

Jay Z (Shawn Corey Carter) was there betting $20k per hand at a private table. Someone please get him a basic strategy card!!! It's unconscionable that the casino would allow him to play at such high stakes and allow him to piss away $100k in one sitting.
Nah, it's unconscionable that Jay Z made the money destroying Alphaville's Forever Young with an awful sampling and inane "lyrics."
