AC Conditions

Just got back from an AC trip, and for all those people who say they are "hurting" I beg to differ. All the resorts were jam packed and you couldn't even get a seat. This even happened at Resorts on a Thursday night!

Anyway I did notice those $25 min six deck games out in the regular pit at Bally's that I have heard about. I only saw one table and it said reserved with nobody playing so I didn't actually get to see the table in action.

Moving on Caesars still has the crappy 8 deck games, not much has changed.

Resorts was interesting. The two tables which are regularly $25 min S17 6 deck games had one of the tables $50 min no mid shoe! You could not get a seat at the $25 table so I didn't get to play what I came all the way to Resorts for.

For those wondering what happened with those S17 tables at WWW this still remains a mystery. That area where the tables were located (the former racebook) has now been turned into a beer pong, mechanical bull, party area for younger kids.

I think they are really trying to gear this place towards the younger crowd now with loud music, dancing girls, and a new "party pit" placed right next to the Mountain Bar. Sorry still the same crappy H17 8 deck Harrah's game.

Well it is the last week before the college students go back to their respective schools.... Also Thursday night is often more crowded than say Tuesday night. If you wish to see how crowded it's likely to be, a good way to check is to see if the hotel rooms are sold out or if the prices are quite high compared to other nights.

Im back to my regular rounds in ac now, so ill spill the beans about what iv noticed the last couple weeks.

AC isnt "hurting" as in they dont have players, but there patronage is under par of what it shoudl be just to clarify.

Tropicana killed the pit by the poker room, and its still h17 and it sucks

Hilton killed the DD game a few days ago, but they have 6 deck games with good pen s17, so brownie points there

ballys periodically opens 6 deck NMS games on the main floor.

(Dead link: http://www....still) h17 8 deck +LL

"the ridge" formerly claridge, is very quiet and easy to operate in with h17 8d an lucky ladies

borgata all 8 deck s17

Trump plaza has IMO the best game with 6d s17 nms games at 25+ and 8 d s17 games with good pen on all of them.

Showboat....h17 8 deck 75% same as all other harrahs properties lucky ladies is available at all harrahs properties

trump taj, is 8d h17 with lucky ladies available on some tables, some good pen to be found.

Resorts has 8d with good pen and s17, they also have two 6d s17 tables, making it very playable.

Marina, has good pen but h17 8d +LL

Havnt played at harrahs this month, but i woudl assum its still h17 8d +LL as it has been for a very long time now.

Thats what I got

Trump Taj $25 and up are S17. Also as Mikwzello said, Borg still has $25, 6 deck. Several of the locations have much better games in the high limit areas. example Trump Marina has $50, 6 deck, S17 with LS. (yes late surrender in AC)

Guys, enjoy Plaza's "best" games while they last because...

"Zman" of AC quits Trump Plaza, effective 10/08/2010 for legit family reasons. He has run casinos just like LV Zman's management style, i.e., free of undue paranoid anxieties in regards to skilled players. I predict that Plaza's bj games will be down hill after Jim is gone, i.e., bad games a la Harrah's style :(.

Saw a few problems with the second report in this thread.

First of all the Plaza's penetration sucks at 6d with most dealers (if not all) cutting 2 decks or more. So to say it is the best game in AC is going a bit far. Also I don't think I had one dealer so much as smile at me the three or four times I had the unpleasant experience of being in that dump.

Second, Resorts 8d games are all H17 now. The only S17 are in the high limit room and those two $25 (sometimes $50) tables. Resorts offers the best games in my opinion, but yes, are very sweaty.

Plaza is the only AC store in which I ever really took a beating. Call me superstitious, but I avoid this store like the plague. Also, hate the slimy feel of the place and the complete absence of anything resembling a good VP machine.

I don't know why people don't come to Rivers casino in Pittsburgh. All BJ are S17. (But you have to be careful because half of tables use CSM while the other half use ASM.) Although 75% penetration is normal, lazy dealers cutting one deck or even half deck when his or her ASM is broken. And ASM break a lot here because dealers handle the cards improperly. It is so sweet to play 7.5 decks out of 8 and worry for the dealer who might run out of cards!

One more thing. There is a female pit boss in night shift that everybody loves her. For dealers, she doesn't micro-manage them. For counters, she doesn't look like a hawk like all other pit bosses do. Actually she doesn't look at players at all. (But in general, pit bosses here give players less heat than AC pit bosses do.)

yes, but they are 8 decks, unless you play the HL room which is 6d but $100 min. thought i'd get a $50 table in HL on a Sun morning, but it wasn't even open.

Scouted it during a Steelers game and wasn't too impressed. Slotted cuts @75%...even the hand shufflers w/ broken m/c's used the slotted shoe to cut.

yes, i would gladly play 7/8, 7.5/8, but i did not see that...you must have gotten lucky - which as we know is big part of this game.

i'll be back there during the reg. season and will report back

Aslan, don't feel bad about your unrecoverable losses in Plaza. Plaza needs your financial contributions---every penny of your losses certainly will help to pay for Jim's compensations. From what I've read and learned from newspapers, General Manager Jim's salary is $453,000, & his severance deal is about $907,000! Jim's earnings are more than that of Obama---U.S. President's salary is only $420,000. Rigot and Obama get 2 things in common: 1) both are smart Ivy League graduates, and 2) both are paid by their supporters: casino losers and U.S. taxpayers, respectively, ;)

pen is kinda average at plaza, But you can easily sit at one of the many 6 deck nms tables and play heads up.

In regards to the rivers casino....Its another 5 hours west of atlantic city, that is why we dont go there, however, harrahs chester is absolutely amazing, and I am in love with it now asside from its very congested tables.

I too got spanked really badly in some good shoes there. The clientele, the dealers, and the PCs are all frowny faces. The bad pen just puts the nail in the coffin. I avoid it at all costs.

Concensus?

I agree with everyone regarding Plaza's conditions, but it seems that it's the only S17 game on the Boardwalk for under $25, making it somewhat sweeter, no?

From what I can tell, penetration is pretty much even all over, (under $25), cut off 1 1/2 - 2 Decks with Caesars being the worse by far. Has anyone experienced better conditions on lower limit tables?

M, yes. you need to find Dealer "########" who offers you better playing conditions. Of course you need to tip him in return just like any of his happy gamblers. Tokes are well worth it at his table because you're welcome to take lots of bathroom breaks. Speaking of the breaks, be aware of some mugger who cut up a gambler and robbed him in a Plaza's men's room .
