My frist sign of heat

I am new to being an AP. I used to be a strict BS player but did some training and studying. Been playing at local place.. I'm only up around 50 units but I haven't been playings much and counts haven't always been that great.

Rules: 6D S17 DAS Double any 2 No RSA no surrender

Yesterday I am playing table min ($10) for a few hours.. Went through several shoes with the best TC ever being only a +2. Finally after 3-4 hours i'm only up around 3 units this MONSTER count comes. The RC is +36 with 2 decks remaining. So here I am going from table min to playings 2 hands plus lucky ladies on each hand betting 12 units (my units are $10). The TC is +18. Pretty quickly the Pit Boss comes storming down to my table and gives me the look of death.. He stands right next to me and watches me play 6 more hands.. Unfortunately I start getting crushed right around this time. He walks away and grabs a pencil and starts jotting things down and heads to a computer.. I start making my ways back by receiving 3 blackjacks in a row. Shoe ends, I color up and walk over to the other side of the casino to continue playing.. I ended up walking out being up 120 units after a little more play.. I had a nice grin on my face leaving for the first time being up a nice chunk of change.

Although this sucks it kind of felt good because I can somewhat relate to what I've been reading on here and I feel that I am part of something a little special. I can now relate instead of just reading and only imagining.

So thats my little story, thanks guys.

Are you sure it was heat? He may have just been entering the change in your bet into the computer for comps.

And I'd be careful about posting too much info here. Naming the state probably isn't a good idea. If the pit critter or anyone else at that particular casino reads your post it will only confirm their suspicions.

Anyway, welcome aboard and congrats on your nice win.

if they touch a computer, they are most likely changing your bet size.

If they pick up the phone, or call over a floor person you havnt seen in the pit all day, then you might be in trouble, and form there you usually dont have a lot of time.

Thanks for the reply guys, I apologize about the TMI. I have edited the posts.

As I'm new I don't know how to take it but I guess its paranoia. I did not see him reach for a phone. Just jot something down with a pencil.. When I walked back out of the casino I noticed the PC and changed shifts which was a good thing. I left anyways.

Doesn't really sound like heat, they jot stuff down all the time, its usually bet size for comps - relax its a good thing! If his demeanor was personable and cheery, and all of sudden just in this instance he seemed angry and concerned, that it might be something.

Also I wouldn't necessarily think someone getting on the phone is heat, there on the phone all the time talking to God knows who. Could be ordering take out.

Well one example of heat is a couple of suits just glaring at my table, which was so out of character even ploppies noticed.

Maybe the Pit boss was changing your rating on the terminal....
One of the stores I play in sometimes will leave the terminal where I can see the screen when playing at 3rd base, Not sure what software they use but it is Windows based and on the main player screen where they enter your buy in amount and betting level are boxes where they can mark you, one for BS player another for Card Counter...he could of tagged you.....a CC......

Ninous, I just read your previous post and you're giving out way too much info, IMO.
Yes.

Could be worse. Consider those threads which are a real-time travelogue of a trip, with posts like:

We're making good time up the I-34. We'll be hitting the Sniveling Eagle Casino promo tonight in Moldy Willow - probably play from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. A shout-out to all APs in the area to meet up. Gordo and I will be wearing camo fatigues and false moustaches, and I walk with a limp ...

Can anyone else verify this, that there is a box for BS or CC? I've spied a few screens and never seen this. Then again, I've never seen a screen where the Windows UI was in view (presume the software is run on Windows, but the app is always in full view, so don't see any Windows UI).

It's not a box - it goes under "comments"; usually at the bottom of the screen, and if written in red fonts it usually is very bad news.

Some good info in here. It could go both ways.. The death stare kind of frightened me I guess and had my mind racing.

I also had no clue that they have separate categories for ploppies vs CC's/AP's

My first time playing at a specific casino, I was questioned about my playing.

Later that evening after the shift change they had a new employee working the pit, somebody was explaining to them how to use the interface at my table, and I heard them say these words which caught my attention....."this player. Has a plus minus flag". So that is up for interpretation I suppose.

The one I saw went to a Windows CE screen after not being touched for a few minutes, and had a tab or boxes upper right corner of the the screen labeled Basic Strategy the other Card Counter looked like they would click on the box to highlight the proper box the one I saw was not highlighted so maybe thats stands for Ploppy...
