What's the worst swing you guys have taken?

I need a drink...
Get used to it, that is part of the game, variance, swings, wipeouts, big wins. That is also the reason for a high washout rate of new counters. It is a dangerous bizzness, and nothing is really guaranteed,,well almost nothing;)

And of course, most of the games today are very inferior, making it even harder to realize your dreams. Keep your eyes open for other plays, expand your horizons:)

Well I wish that was my worst beating...even in the last week! 110 units is nothing, I usually encounter such a loss at least once every week or 2. My worst was about 5 times that amount, and it's happened more than once.

i feel your pain but....

as a famous AP told me, (errhhh paraphrased a bit substituted 'pull the trigger' for spin), "Now pull the trigger ya chicken sh!t....!!! it's called a fluctuation....get used to it!!!!! Geeze :p:p:p"

well that said, i feel your pain, and like CP was saying, expand your horizons a bit, a diversified portfolio really can help these situations.
yah never know when Snidely Whiplash is gonna call in a loan, or give yah one. it just happens.:(

Barely a mosquito bite

This is nothing. Way way worse will happen to you.

A reasonable 50-hour bankroll is 100 maximum bets. For a 12-1 spread, that's 1200 units.

On the simulator and at the tables I have seen downswings of 30 to 35 maximum bets in 8-10 hours of play.

Downswings of 110 units or more happen at least a couple dozen times in 1000 hours of play.

110 units is probably what? 10 max bets? not much?i thought ,it was suggested to have around 200- 400 max bets?
Probably don't even need 10 max bets. In 3 or 4 hands, with splits/doubles, insurance, etc., that doesn't go your way, can be down 100 units in a couple of minutes.

I just had a 110 bet loss in the last two sessions. Nothing would go my way. It happens, but what you have to say is in the long run you have the advantage. Just remember that it can go the other way and you will be up 110 units; and it will happen!

The trick I use is to measure my results by EV rather than actual result. This way every day is a positive day as long as you are playing positive EV. After a while you don't even pay attention to the small swings of a couple hundred units and in the end expectation and actual results will come back together, if you play enough.

Admittedly this technique don't work as well for me during extended swings. During a 5 week period in July and the first week of August I lost over 1300 units. It becomes a little harder to convince yourself that such a losing day was really a positive, because you played positive expectation game, when you suffer losing day after losing day for weeks at a time.

Whats the most hands someone has lost in a row?
I have lost 12 hands in a row but I have witnessed a loss of 21 hands. Not in a row but not a single win in 21 straight hands. There were some pushes mixed in. What was crazy about that was it continued into the next shoe

My partner once lost 140 max bets flatbetting a juicy 2:1 promo over the course of about 30 hours play. I was lucky enough to only be about 50% under EV during the same time period. The other players did OK and one of them crushed so the casino was probably close to their expected negative EV for the time period.

Negative variance is part of BJ. You will have to get used to it.
