blackjack players are ridiculous. I was at this busy crowded small time joint. Max bet $100 throughout the casino. Playing on a $15 table w/ 2 bets of $100 and a TC around 4. I get 15 on both, dealer is showing an X and I wave. The ploppy on my left is in hysterics.
"$100 bet and he's standing on 15" he squealed. He'd never seen something so ridiculous. It was as if I had insulted his sacred honour. The cult of ploppyism would not let this stand. "You'd better not let them catch you playing like that at the $25 tables".
I guess to ploppies the guys at the $25-$100 tables were the high rollers. The blackjack Gods. Of course I knew the truth. They were the real idiots... the degenerates that just wanted to lose their money faster to the casino. The geniuses of ploppydom were the old men at the $5 tables that coffeehoused every hand and took forever to make their decision. They knew how to stretch a dollar and have a great night out without losing a mint.

A week later I was in another joint, further away, playing quarter minimum spreading 40-1 and much much more and raising all sorts of hell, sneaking up on tables, hiding behind things until the cut card was in so I couldn't be half shoed and I couldn't help think of that ploppy "well bud, I've arrived... hope they can handle me here at the quarter tables!"

I've seen them pull the cut card out and reset it for players using your later strategy. That is after the cards were in the shoe. If anyone bitches they shuffle the cards.

For the former. Just tell him the big action scares you so you don't want to bust, like to insure it and surrender more hands. Also if they are the dealer bust card types tell them you can bank on me taking the dealer bust card so stand on your hand to keep the flow of the cards. Also you can tell him he can offer to buy your bets and play them differently if he thinks you are making a mistake. They will either find another table or shut the f up.

I would suggest when a guy disses you in such a fashion that you return the emotion.

Far to many AP's feel they have to be pussy's when they are playing, if you are a pussy that is fine, but if not don't act as one.

One problem I see with the AP community is too many pussy's who get their heads shoved into a filthy toilet and then say to the perpetrator, "Thank you sir, may I have another".

We all don't have wives to back us up:grin:

Be wary of table max bets, can draw heat & casino staff may not appreciate the brazenness.

(roflmao)

Let me clear this up. If I am a pussy, it's ok to keep on being a pussy, and that's fine, right?

Betting more than ½ the "Table Max" is simply asking to be 86'd.

When someone says something like that to me I just infer in a whisper that there are an excess number of tens left. Give them a wink and they usually get it.

I tend to agree with you. The more one bets the more likely they are to get heat. This can be a line dangerous to cross. However with so many $100 & $200 max tables this rule of thumb can cramp ones bets. This coming from the fanatic fractional kelly lune!

I have never been backed off from the table before, but I did have a dealer call out to the pit boss and he said we have a cardcounter over here. I was lucky that the pit boss didn't come over to the table. I had a 12 vs 4 the count was neg 5 and with just two decks left to be played in the shoe. I hit a 7 and beat the dealer. Next hand was 12 vs 13 and the count was a true count was neg 6. The dealer looked at me and said to the whole table lets see what the counter going to do now! I looked back at the dealer and told him you know what i'm going to do. Hit it. I draw an 8 and beat the dealer again. Next few hands the dealer didn't say one word to me. Dealer name was Jim and I said hey Jim he would not answers me so I said hey Jim four more times and he said what do you want in a real **** way. I ask what's the count He said "I don't know" I said I was hoping you had it becasue I lost it. Some time the best defense is a good offense. He went to break so I colered up and left. Played 30 mins and walked out with $450 profit. I know people will criticize me for what I said to the dealer but if you think about it a counter would not say anything like that to a dealer at the table.:whip:

Been there said that. Except his response was you aint lose the count. I been playing you for a year and a half now. If you lost the count you would wong out. True true I said. I then asked, since I had a dealer bet out. What you want to do? He says I been playing the game for 15 years and never have I got lucky like you even when I count. Do what you want you been making stiff double downs work for you all day. I double downed a 14 and put the extra $2.50 for him down as well I pulled a 4 to beat the dealer. PB said you know Mr. so and so is watching (Casino prez.). Which I replied, really is he gonna meet me at the door again on the way out and congratulate me on my amazing play?

I don't think you have to worry about them 86ing you for play like that. They should give you top comps. What no tens, nines or eights left? Did the dealer bust or make a 17? I can't think of a deck composition were you would double that and not expect the dealer to make his hand. Maybe if you were side counting 6 and 7 and the count was very negative while extremely rich in 6 and 7. The dealer would still be likely to make his hand with any upcard. Maybe a dealer 9 up.

These kind of posts can get you in trouble with the mods.

Bleh who the **** cares if a ploppy gives you a suggestion? I've heard a ploppy actually whisper to the pit boss "I think this guy is counting". It was this big fat middle aged guy who seemed in love with the hot pit boss. What a ****ing loser if I ever saw one.

Ask him if he'll take over half your action on this hand, then you'll play the way he suggests. Or go tell him to stick to whatever the **** he does for a living and to shut the **** up.

It's hilarious when patrons who know about counting give you **** for doing it....what a joke. It's like them saying, "Would you please bet and play like a loser sir? That would be the polite thing to do".

I was talking about resetting the cut card while playing the shoe not at the beginning of the shoe. I guess I was not quite wordy enough to make that clear. Sorry. When a player they wanted to half shoe showed up the cut card was reset when they wanted to reset it. They are trying to drive the player away. The more troubling the change in penetration to this player the better. I have not seen many people get half shoed so the sample size is miniscule. It could easily be the exception rather than the rule for halfshoeing a player. I was surprised that they even could reset the cut card once the play of the shoe started. I guess it is no different than shuffling before you hit the cut card which also surprised me the first time I saw it. I am pretty sure they were allowed to do that but I could be wrong.

Isn't this Newton's First Pussy Law of Motion? A pussy emotion stays an emotion, at constand speed and a straight line, unless acted on by an external, unbalanced force?
