What casino offers the best penetration, smallest min, low heat, and least amount of decks?

If you feel more comfortable PMing me that is fine.

Thanks

Ill be going in January and have been wondering the same thing. I've gone to the Wizard of Vegas, where they list every casino, game, and house edge, and found this extremely helpful. Only thing is , I'm not sure exactly how up-to-date it is..So if anyone here who plays vegas a lot can PM me as well, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Cheers!

It depends on the stakes. A casino that is best for $5 players won't be the best for $100,or even $25 players.
The WOO site is pretty up to date.

Gotcha. Spreading from $5 or $10 to around $130 or two hands of $100..The info seems to give the downtown casinos the better games, but since I'll be staying on the strip, was wondering if any games worth playing there..Thanks

There are no strip games with a less than $25 minimum that I'd call good.
Downtown, in the good games, you won't get away with switching from one hand of $5 to 2 hands of $100.

Oh ok. By good I don't really mean like a great game, just a decent one that I can wong out of when the count goes bad (TC= -2), and one without too much heat for my spread. Right now I play in AC usually a 6 deck with around one to one-and-a-half cut, DAS, No resplit aces, and S17..

If you're comfortable with the shoe games, you can find better ones than the ones you're currently playing all over the strip. At a $10 minimum, you can find H17 DAS RSA LS 4.5/6D at many places. Some other places will also offer that at $5 minimums, or better pen, or both. CBJN (and thus, Wizard of Vegas) is a mostly accurate depiction of weekday conditions, but minimums go up in most places at nights and on weekends. Honestly though, I've had the best luck just by checking out places on my own and being surprised by games that are far better than their listing in CBJN would suggest.

As for your spread, you'll be OK playing short sessions in most places (especially if you can play the $10 games), but you'll be under scrutiny in most of the places that have good $5 games. I know a $5 min 5/6D H17 DAS RSA LS game where you can play pretty aggressively for a little while, but if you have too many 2x100 bets, you can be sure that you'll be asked to leave. Interestingly, there's a reasonable $5 min 4.5/6D H17 DAS RSA LS game downtown that handles big action and doesn't flinch with 2x100, but again, short sessions are important here. Hell, I was able to spread pretty heavily on DD games at Plaza and El Cortez without any heat, but I don't play long sessions, and I have a semi-decent act. Your mileage may vary.

You should be able to find lots of H17, LS 4.5/6 or 6.5/8 shoes on the strip that won't blink at a $10-2x$100 spread.

Sruly...I'll be there around the same time. Funny too, I'm fom the east coast and I usually play in AC. The shoe game you described sounds like the high limit room at any of the Harrah's properties where you will usually find me. Who knows maybe we have played together?

Getting back to the topic at hand. The El Cortez sounds like they have good single and double deck games but I've heard that their is a lot of heat. Judging from WizardofVegas, Circus Circus looks like they have a good double deck game too.

Check out the stratosphere. Honestly i was in Vegas about 8 months ago so i dont remember the exact stats on the table. But i do definitely remember they had one of the best $5 tables I saw on the strip.

The Tropicana had these rules when I was out there recently. Penetration is dealer dependent and one would get close to dealing 5 decks, which was excellent. I just play for fun and spread 1-3 and I would occasionally sit out unfavorable hands. Its fairly obvious, but at this spread its not really an issue if its not too crowded. As far as other places on the strip, many have optioned for the dreaded 6:5. It's kinda sad, but people still play, unaware of what a disadvantage this is. From what I saw, conditions are really deteriorating, although I didn't have time to go downtown.

EC is good for low-rollers, like Shadroch noted, and they're not always as sweaty as people suggest. A lot of times, the pit is half-awake and not even paying attention. I played somewhat aggressively in their DD game for a very short session (~30 min) with a pit boss watching every hand; as long as you keep them guessing, you might be able to make some progress.

I'm not sure how you got the impression that Circus's games were good, but they're not. I've only played their toward the end of the PM shift because a low-rolling civilian friend of mine wanted to play a bit and I didn't want to suggest a higher-limit, better game. From what I recall, it was 4/6D H17 DAS noRSA noLS. One good thing I can say is that I was able to play aggressively with no heat whatsoever for a fair length of time. And it's kind of a fun casino to walk around in.

Edit: The DD game at Circus wasn't open last time I was there, but I seem to remember the usual: bad rules, bad pen. Good luck.

I see a latin guy at the EC almost everytime I'm there betting anywhere from $35 to $200 a hand with no problem but he is a wild better, clueless to BS unless he has great disguise. He orders two beers at a time and uses one as an icepack, holding it against his forehead.

The Trop is one of the best on the Strip for low rollers. $5 shoe games with H17 are consistently available throughout the day. The S17 tables are $25 minimum however.

Downtown, you might check out the Plaza to see if they still have their 4 deck game. They were cutting off less than 1 deck when I was there in February.
