Two guys and one girl heading West, looking for action!!! Machinist and Sagefrog are on the road hopping as fast as we can. We are Laughlin bound, seeking our fortune and possibly fame!
We met up at my place in Tn. Yestrday. The alarm went off bright and early....8am???? So much for a early start. Then I was informed we need breakfast, and some gas. Finally hit I-40 at 10 am. Whew!!! 28 hrs to go....
Will update our trip as the miles go by...
Or as events unfold....

Note to Gov Sandoval: assemble national guard and lock down southeastern border.

I can only imagine the fun you guys will have and the damage you will do to the casinos. Best of luck. Have a blast!

How far can we go today.....? Decided to pass on Tunica......really want to get to the desert. Possibly do a few stops in Oklahoma....

Folks,

You mentioned Laughlin.

When it comes to Laughlin … I advise you to lower your expectations, irrespective of how low they already are.

You mentioned Oklahoma.

Let me clarify a bit about the trip.....spring break at Havasu City! That is a bonus....
We are approaching oklahoma city....dropping off a Ryder truck for a friend.:) ah will stop at a couple bigger stores for the hell of it..stretch legs n such......
Seriously.....Sage and Y have n.ever been to the desert or vegas....I'm visiting parents. We decided to drive to see the sites????
Probably get a room in ok city for the nite....
More of a site seeing vacation for us....hopefully not to much work.....unless we are forced into action by incompetent casino employees....

Have fun, enjoy the trip and do well!

I have enjoyed the few crosscountry trips I have made. I hope you have a great time, just be selective of where you play... forget about Oklahoma; There's a 50cent "ante" per hand, making it an ugly lesson in futility. The Isleta Casino in New Mexico is worth stopping at if it's on your way along with a few others. I wonder if I still have my maps of casino stops laying around? It's no matter though as you can easily pull up this information for yourselves but only a small portion of the total casinos available have a playable blackjack game. Laughlin is low low stakes, lots of retirees with an average age of 80 or so and they have tightened right up over the years rulewise like Vegas. It makes for a nice pitstop at least!

Road trip! I envy you guys and hope you have a fantastic time!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Well its 1:59 am. We seemed to have hit a snag in procuring a room for the nite......Seems there is an oil boom in the middle of oklahoma. We r just west of OK City......a dozen motels and 3 towns later we have given up and got some coffee.....Pushing through.... Seems the oil workers have all rooms booked for miles and miles!!! Wow....
So Sagefrogs betterhalf is snoozing in back......and I guess us two will have to tell stories all nite....
Oh well won't be the first time this has happened....

Mass exodus from far southern Nevada ahead of what is being described as hurricane SYM. It is reported that many of the 86 residents that actually live there have fled.

You could have pushed on a couple more hours and gotten a full night's (day's?) sleep by checking into a Motel 6 at 6am local time. There is my quick tip for these type of road trips.

A thought

When on such a road trip, and in such close proximity to one another, and especially in mixed company, strongly resist the temptation to consume high fiber foods.:yikes::eek:

Damn! Ya'll are booking it! Won't be long before you can actually hit the casinos! I'm so jealous for the time being, but I am planning a trip in your general area next weekend

Been planning it for about a month now... Tick tock...

Can't wait to hear your stories :)
