BJ vs Slots

My wife hit a penny slot machine for $5700 . Now she is convinced penny machine are the only ones to play. I wish the hell she had never won ,because she has since put every penny & more back in the GD machines. She knows how to play perfect BJ & I am trying to show her that unlike a slot machine when you bet $5 on BJ ,you get paid $5 ,so you have a total of $10. You bet $5 on a pull of $5 slot you win $5 ,but that is not a win ,but a push. My winnings seldom make up for her loss. I play BJ & do count ,but 6 decks can be tiresome. I asked her why she think's the casino gives us a Suit on her play & gives me a standard card & room on my play? She now has the casino host on first name bases. PISSED OFF POGO .

Sorry Pogo, its gonna be a tough row to hoe as we say on the farm.
You are right ..it's the worst thing ever for her to hit a jackpot!!!!
My advice......Keep a log on her losses.....and also a log on your BJ play.
Keep an eye on her though ...they will lie about how much they win an lose or even have on them. It's a tough addiction..

yah pogo, Macho's got a point there. keep a log.
maybe try some reverse psychology.
how much would you pay to get her to stop?
maybe join her at it, but keep a log.
you keep quite, let her talk about what's happening, at most, you make statements with questions. like maybe you bet $1.00 on a spin, the machine comes back and tells you that you won $0.10 , sorta thing, maybe say, "that's a win?"
whatever let her explain it......
just have fun with her, hey that's what it's all about anyway, no? that's what you both really want. that's why plus ev stuff is good in the first place, it's so as the two of yah can enjoy life together, sorta thing.
let her make the realization, with you as the witness.
she doesn't want to hurt the good thing that you two have together anymore than you do.
chances are good that she'll see it's no good and start backing off, on her own decision. especially if she thinks it's her own decision and nuthing to do with your influence.
that's how it is with deviant behavior, you can't talk someone out of it, the talking is part of the sickness. it's gotta be their own decision.
the log should help.

My wife also does slots, but $1 and she only plays one type machine, and always progressive. She, we, get to know the machines, and believe it or not, some of these can be beaten or played even. The comps my wife receives are worth thousands$ and we take full advantage, and she is up in her 3 year playing career $22k, and that does include tourney wins of some $9k and VP wins of some $4k.

Did I say the comps are great?:cool::grin:

And worth twice as much when you are married, her room comp takes care of both of you.

Knowing how to play progressive slots is a valuable skill.
