This is the first night for Delaware Park. Has anyone visited there? I am really interested in whether or not they have any games without CSMs. Early reports said that only CSMs would be used.

I think you are referring to me anyway, but the pit guy I talked to on Tuesday said that shoes wouldn't be introduced until a "few" months into live play.

Yeah, I was wondering if he had his facts straight, but I guess they rent the machines so it's no problem getting rid of them

2 tables in high limit, no csm one $50 min and one $100 min.

Sounds possible, all the csm tables have 8 deck discard racks for some reason.

All CSM on the main floor with all $25 min except one that was $50. Every table was jammed today around 4. Seems like the general public in the area is so starved for table games that they will play anything at any price.

After passing on blackjack, I decided to check out the craps tables, which were also packed - one each at $10, $15 and $25 with one closed. I read on their website that they were offering 10X odds, which seemed inviting, only to find 5X when I arrived. Not what I expected, but I can deal with it, since that is mostly what is in AC - wrong! At least AC offers true 5X odds where on a $15 table, 5 & 9 can go to $100 and 6 & 8 can go to $125 - not the case here - $75 max on all numbers except 5 & 9, which they allowed $80. When I asked the dealer about 10X, he said it was changed on Friday - might be one of the quickest rule changes I've seen.

Table starvation will pass as players' losses mount and they hear that the pros refuse to play here. The high minimums and the CSMs are gaining quick profits and long-term bad PR. Another case of friggin' bean counters calling the shots instead of wise businessmen. Anyway, it's not that much further to AC and Harrington, DE, and the PA casinos have yet to be heard from.

I am not liking D Park. They only have one Baccarat table and the poker room gets packed. Even the craps tables have some high limits.

I hope Harrah's Chester has some better conditions especially since I am only 7 minutes away. The only down side is that you risk getting hit by a stray bullet especially since they are in a state of emergency right now with all of the murders.

If any of you venture into Chester I suggest you be careful even in the middle of the day. Chester is nothing like DPark, but I think the casino conditions will be better.

I have a bad feeling PA will be equally insane for a while until the novelty wears off. I'll agree that I feel much safer at DP than at Chester, but I still can't get over the table minimums - felt like I was at Caesars with crappier games.

I am not going to base any conclusions off of 1 super busy holiday weekend, where people are standing in line to get a seat. It has been my observation in Vegas, that CSM just don't last. People (even ploppies) generally refuse to play them at the $25 and above level and they usually disappear at all but the lowest stakes games. If I am not mistaken, these machines must be leased rather than purchased and after several months it usually becomes apparent to these geniuses that if they are not in constant use, the money saved by "tharwting counters" and eliminating shuffle downtime does not offset the costs.

I heard from a reliable source 6 months ago that Delaware Park was extremely concerned about AP and would be installing nearly all CSM, so it is no surprise, that they have done so. The surprise to me will be if they are still in operation 6 months or a year from now, when the novelty of table games in Delaware is gone and demand levels off, probably below supply. I think this is more likely to be short lived at all but the lowest stakes games, than a trend which will change east coast blackjack.

I did find it interesting that of the Delaware Casino's, only Delaware Park had this extreme paranoia concerning AP.

DE and PA

We need to get real people. This is the East Coast with 30 million people within driving distance. Plus these casinos are often literally the only game in town.
To paraphrase George Wallace-we will see shitty games today, shitty games tomorrow, shitty games forever.
If you want good games go to Nevada.....and actually...not so much even there!

Reporter looking to interview Delaware Park table games players

I'm Cris Barrish, senior reporter at the Wilmington (Del.) News Journal. Since Delaware Park won't let the media interview table games players at the casino, I've decided to go to a forum and ask anybody who would like to share their experiences -- on the record using their name -- to call me anytime at 302-324-2785. Thanx

When we do stories, we like to include voices of actual players. While I visit Delaware Park periodically and know the scene, it would be nice to include actual players in the stories we're writing. Here's a link to my latest story:

(Dead link: http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=20107120322)

Thanx

Keep this quiet. If you want good games, go to Las Vegas, then turn northwest and keep going.

Oo,oo! I know where you're talking about! Sounds like it's near the Biggest Little City in the World, but my lips are sealed.
