Ok guys, My team and I see that Tiger can get us to our overseas neighbours for $28 each way! And I heard the BJ there is fantastic!

Does anyone know the CURRENT and ACCURATE rules for both casinos, and at which levels they apply?

Decks, Rules, Shoe/CSM?

Of course we are only going to go if decent shoe games exist, no CSMs please!

Tasmania has two casinos - one in Hobart (Wrest Point) which is very very old and the other is in Launceston (called Launceston Country Club) - You would rather forget about Tasmania mate. Their casinos together are less than 1/8th of Crown Casino and as far as I know Hobart only has 5 to 6 blackjack tables opened at any one time. Im sure theres lot of scrutiny. Launceston only has 4 blackjack tables in their casino.

Rules are: S17 (yes this is pleasing) no late surrender 8 decks games - dealt from a deck and thus no CSM.

Good luck - I would rather forget about it.

Think blackjackstudent was saying only "5 OR 6" tables open, not 6:5 blackjack, was 3:2 when I was there recently. On weeknights there is only one $10 and one $25 table open. Even with 8 decks, some of best conditions in AUS, pen often 7/8.

Oh my mistake, I apologise. Yes despite the 8 decks the HE is only around 0.51%, compared with my usual battleground at Crown's VIP rooms where the HE is 0.65% because of their H17 rule. And if, as you say there is, 7/8 PEN, that is excellent. At Crown its only when I find a generous dealer that I get 7/8 PEN.

Im traveling with several people, so is it a feasible option to attempt team play? With so little tables Im worried we will stand out.

Of course you will stand out - forget it mate. You will be recognised after 2 full sessions or maybe less. Even though heat is less compared to some of the other overseas casino, I would rather you forget about it. Its a very small casino - I mean Tasmanian casinos are very small.

I mean casino staff wouldnt worry if someone was betting big on each hand (say between $ 100 to $ 500 per hand) but if someone was spreading from $ 25 to $ 300 - you could get caught.
