From 20 000$ to 110 000$

#1
Hi, I'm new to this forum, found it about a week ago, and thought I could share my 2008 gambling escapaded that got me about 95 000$ profits in 2 and a half months :)

Note that I will round up the profit, loss numbers to ease everything out for the reader.

I started with a 20 000$ bankroll, headed out to Alberta (edmonton/calgary) as I firgured the best rules in Canada were there (I'm only 19 so I couldn't head out to vegas.

I was using red 7's

This was my game plan :

-25$ min bet
-Switch my bet to 100$ when the count was past the pivot point
-Switch my bet to 200$(double de pivot point bet) when true red 7's count was +6 and higher
-Add 50$ and 100$ to each bet respectively every 5000$ profits I made.
-PLay at least 40 hours everyweek
-Stop with a 100 000$ profit

So I head out to edmonton, stay in a shitty motel for 150$ a week. I start out my first week in some random casion, 4 deck game, pretty good penatration, early surender, H17, DAS

So I start out, after 4 days of playing, maby 40 hours of play, I'm up 2000$. Then on the 5th day, I go in, and go into a 3000$ drop  I'm now down around 1000$ of my total starting bankroll. But I keep going, make 6000$ straight in the next 6-7 days, and I'm now up my 5000$. That was a hell of a coster ride.

So I take a one day break, look around shop for food and stuff. Then I go back at it, now with a 25$ min, 150$ pivot point bet and 300$ at +6. I start of pretty bad, but in the next week manage to make another 5000$ being down 2000$ from my first 5000$ provit at some point. so after a little less that 3 weeks I'm up 10 000$. Pretty good I tell myself.

Then the next range of bet is 200$ and 400$. I go at it, and in less then 5 hours I make 5000$. So I take a little break, and on that same day, switch to 250$-500$ bets, which 500$ was table max at the tables I was plaing at. My total bankroll is now 35 000$. I keep playing for like 8 hours, with no change in my bankroll (what a waste of time... JOKE)

So I go back at it the next day, and in the course of those two days I reach my other 5000$ profits, Droping down 5000$ in my past profits at one point, so I cleared 10 000$ from there, making it to 5000$ more. I'm now up to about 40 000$ a little less because of some expenses and stuff.

I realise that the table max is only 500$, so I decide to bag up from alberta and head out to niagara falls to play, as there would be more action. The rules a worste, but I calculated that by being able to play higher, but with less good rules, I'd still make more in the falls.

Note: I have to mention that in the casinos I played in edmonton, I got no heat, I think it is because I look really young and the don't think I'm inteligent enough to count

So I get a plane ticket to toronto airport, but MY plane takes of from calgary in a week from that date. So I take a bus to calgary, rent out another motel for a week and find another little casino to play at. So in the next four days I make 6000$ playing my earlier 250$-500$ betting, and manage to catch my flight to toronto, with a little bus ride from there to the falls.

First day there I find me some old ass econo lodge to stay at, at a rate of 200$ per week. I also go that night to a strip club and purshace me a switchbladem you know, walking around with about 45 000$ in my pokets (lugage). But then the next day I get the great Idea of getting a safety box at the scotiabank on victoria avenue. I decide to only go to the casinos with 20 000$ at a time.

So anyways I hit up the niagara casino the 3rd day in the falls, I'm about 1 month into my escapade now. The casino is only 5 mins walk from my room. (First time I went though I had to take a taxi cause it was pouring out and some imigrant tryed to rip me of by making detours and stuff.)

So anyways, I get there, check the place out, and find a little VIP room with like a big screen TV and a little place to eat and bar. The table limits I saw was 50$-1000$ max. 6 decks, H17, 1 1/2 to 2 deck pen ( not very good ).

So I decide to just go and start betting 50$ min, 500$ pivot point and 1000$ table max at +6 higher. I know it was Waaaaaaaayy betting my bankroll but I was like w/e.

First night I lose 10 000$ in like 4 hours. Ouch. Decided to take a day break the next day and buy me some fake armani shades  and some food. So I go to the bank, and decide to take my whole bankroll this time. About 35 000$. I hit it up, and roller coster my way back up to 5000$ more of profit, which is a 15 000$ win in a little less then 12 hours. Pretty hyped up. that next day I wake up early, bring half of my bankroll in chips to my deposit box, and go back to the casino with 25 000$. The next two days I manage to make 20 000$ profits. When I go to the bank the next day, I count a little more than 68 000$. I think I lost 1000$ somewhere and still think I did.

Anyways I now got about that much in 5000$ hundred bills stacks and casino chips. I'm up about 48 000$ in about 1 month and 3 weeks. That's more than my mom makes in a year  Anyways Its was tuesday of the last week from june and in the rest of the week 5-6 days I managed to roller coaster my bankroll to just over 90 000$.

I then decided to check out the fallsview casino resort, find the VIP room iwht 100$ min bet and 2000$ max. On my way out, I go by me some rings and a sweet watch at their jewellery store with my point card, which works in both casinos.

So It's now june, I'm up like 71 000$ and decide to hit up fallsview with a 1000$-2000$ betting.

Horrible first 4 days, 20 000$ drop in my bankroll  I take a day break, and go back at it. IN the course of the next week and a half, I catch a Huge break and pull up my bankroll to 100 000$ :joker:

I'm just balling out now take like a 2 days break, watch the games in the other casino's sports betting bar, and loving life. I'm now 20 000$ short of my goal. I can make that easy in a day with a little luck.

It's now the 3rd week of june, and decide to go back to the old 500$-1000$ betting range at the casino niagara, to be safer. First day, I make 10 000$ in 4 hours

I thought about all that at nigh, and think about something I read, the 90% rule, where you should stop playing when you are 90% to your goal. I was, with just a little less then 110 000.

So the next day I decide to stop it all for the year, head out to fallsview and rent me a room for one week, and relax in the falls, do a little bit of musuems and stuff. I also buy myself a ruby red 99 BMW 318is from some guy that owns a body shop store in st-catherines. He puts me some 18" used chrome rims on ith with 4 brand new tires for 1000$ more. Total about 8000$ before taxes.

So my last night at the fallsview casino and hotel resort, I see the VIP guy who tells me that if I want to come down any time to fallsview they got a room waiting for me :) Pretty cool

So anyways the next day I get my car, deposit half my money in my scotia bank account, grab the rest of it, about 50 000$ cash, and head back home to ottawa, about a 7 hour drive.

I then invested a lot of that money and lost a lot this automn in the stock market  hopefully it will go back up.

I'm thinking of going back this summer to gamble again, but not sure yet.

Feel free to ask me some questions, and this is a GREAT site by the way. Thanks for reading if you've made it up to here.

Did you keep track of your Total playing hours?
ES on the 6D game?

Something doesn't seem right to me

While this is a doable scenario, I am suspicious , but hope it is true.:)

Now,,, you are truly negligent in posting so much information on locations. :(

Whether or not your story is accurate, I think you should consider adding a few more adventures and turning it into a screen play. It reminds me of "Rounders" (I think that was the name--poker movie with Matt Damon), but with blackjack instead of poker.

Its good that you have a career as a fiction writer to fall back on if your blackjack career doesn't work out.

Dude, don't you get it man? If your story is true, and someone from Fallsview or other casinos you hit reads this, you'll never play there again...they could possibly back up the tape (if it's not too late) and circulate your name & picture throughout the area. Capiche?

Oh yea, they now also know what you drive. Might as well give the plate number while you're at it.

Without pounding out the specific numbers in detailed calculation and just thinking about this off the top of my head... I'm guessing that starting bankroll was a "Hail Mary" bankroll/expendable bankroll as it is known as... because what you depict well...

The ES in Alberta is not allowed vs an Ace. Niagara casinos are S17 unlike reported and I've never spotted pen better than 75% there. People can land on the happier side of variance, good luck in the future.

you have no clue....

bets and bankroll are FAR more important than the count you use.

A person using a level III count with a $1000 BR will make less than someone with a $10k bankroll, dare I guess using speed count; well at least red 7.

I never said anything about early surrender on the 6 deck games. I said the rules in the falls were not as good, never mentioned anything about ES on 6 decks. O and how did I get a 20 000$ bankroll? Made around 6000$ in the quebec casinos and the rest I made it selling on ebay... Why would I waste an hour of my time to write about my story if it wasen't true lol. I wanted to ask if my winnings were accurate on my main topic fo the amount of time I played but I forgot. At the begening I wanted to play 30-40 hours a week but eneded up playing maby 50-60 hours a week on average due to huge roller coster swings. Seeing the comments I guess I was lucky about winning so quickly...

You guys are funny, all you maried dads with kids thinking it is impossible for a 19 year old (soon 20) to have 20 000$ in their bank accounts. I still live at my parents house and pay 200$ rent a month. I made over 15 000$ US selling on ebay in just over 4 months last year, And was back at it again this year. It's not because you old folks don't know how do make money that it is impossible to get 20 000$. That isin't even a lot, can't even buy a decent brand new car for that much. If I was to write a false story I would have came up with something like me being kicked out of casinos and stuff because of counting and being chased like in the movies. Didn't happen, I never got heat from anyone, and I never thought people from the casinos would read on this forum. BUt there is so many people that gamble, I doubt they will notice me if I go back. I might try to head out to BC to see what kind of action they got.

If your story is true, I think you should have your post busted (deleted). You might get that done before casino staff read it and figure out who you are. There is a little debate on the issue, but I personally think it is a certainty that casino staff browse this and other sites at times to keep tabs on the counting community.

Why risk losing your income because you've been 86'd.? That's the bottom line.

You need to pick up some BJ books and read up young fella. If your playing at the level you claim to be, pick up Ian Andersons' books, I guarantee you WILL learn alot.

I was willing to reserve my judgment until I heard more about how you got your bankroll. Now I'm willing to join in the "you're lying" crowd. It's pretty interesting how you magically "made" $6,000 in Quebec casinos and magically "made" $15,000 on Ebay.

If I had to guess, you're somewhere between 15-17 and fantasizing heavily after becoming a "21" convert. I think you really do live in Canada with your parents (but don't pay rent), for what that's worth. I'm very tempted to guess that your family is rich enough so that you're due for some money when you turn 18 and you intend to spend it gambling.

It's actually this phrase, out of everything you posted, that crystallized my opinion of you.

Only someone who has no concept of money (either because they're too young or too poor) would actually assume that skepticism about a 19-year-old with $20,000 meant that $20,000 was too much for anyone to have. It's possible that you're both young AND poor, but I think people who are both end up thinking about easier ways to win free money than card counting.

Most of us grandpas know what it's really like to be 19. And, just for the score, I'm pretty sure most of the people writing to you not only have $20,000 sitting around for non-retarded purposes, but pay $20,000 in taxes in a year.

The following link contains profanity (I'm not sure whether that's against the rules of the board, apologies if it isn't):
