Stay away from Single Deck games at Stratosphere, LV

Check out the stratosphere. Honestly i was in Vegas about 8 months ago so i dont remember the exact stats on the table. But i do definitely remember they had one of the best $5 tables I saw on the strip.
A friend of mine just came back from Vegas, yes, he's a sucker or didn't know any better. The $5 game at Stratosphere he mentioned was 6 to 5 single deck game. He was pissed thinking the casino cheated:whip: because he lost his money so fast...LOL.

P.S. I told him to stop patronizing these games.

The above is also confirmed by CBJN/The Wizard blackjack survey. Mandalay and Monte Carlo have, in midweek, $10 S17 liberal rules.
Note that Monte Carlo has ONE 8D S17 table. There is no 6D S17 (in fact, I'm pretty sure there is no 6D there except for the HL room).

Mandalay has many 6D S17. I've never personally seen the minimums below $15 though.

I am a total amateur but I played some great games at the Orleans this past weekend. They had several double deck tables with 5 dollar mins. hit soft 17, double any 2, double after split etc. (the -.40 game). I was wonging when it got really really bad (-5) which I know is kind of too late for most of you guys, but with 2 decks weathering the storm at a full table was only a couple of hands and I didn't want to keep finding a reason to leave, i only spread 1-6. At first penetration was almost 75%, but towards the end of my stay it was much closer to 50% which really sucked. Anyway I walked with 650.00 in winnings. I would just leave every time I made a hundred bucks. I only lost in one session broke even in 3 and won in about 7 or so. They also offered Lucky Ladies side bets which I bet at +8 counts and won all 3 times I bet it, but I only bet white chips on it.

I definitely would like to get some play in on those tables again. I don't really have a bankroll, just buy in for 100.00 and see how long it can go, if I hit some positive standard deviation or whatever all the better!

They do watch pretty close at Orleans which might account for your degradation from 75% to 50% pen. At least they didn't back you off.

I was in vegas this week and Mandalay Bay had a $10 6 deck S17, DAS, LS game.
I can confirm this for Monte Carlo. Yesterday night (weekday night) I played $10 S17, DAS, LS, RSA game there. Theirs looked more like 8 deck to me though.

JohnDoe is fully correct re: Las Vegas S17 shoe games.

There are NO S17 low stakes games with good rules.
wwcd: IT CAN'T BE. ;) Look at the above post.

FLASH1296...Why do you make absolute statements like:

"There are NO S17 low stakes games with good rules" and what type of data do you use to back this up? Other internet postings? CBJN? Shoe leather?

I am mildly curious.

To be fair (and somehow I got wrapped up into this) the discussion did move to Spanish 21 in Vegas for a time. I'm pretty sure that's what he was talking about.

I don't remember saying that there were "no" good low-stakes (BJ) games. I did specifically say there were no good SP21 games (S17), and Flash was confirming this.

So I think he was talking about SP21, and if so he would be correct. (Though the SP21 is poor at any stake.)

CBJN says there are 6 deck S17 spanish 21 games in Vegas. Can anyone confirm this?

There aren't any. Wizardofvegas lists several, and it's wrong (though the printed HE looks right.)
