half-shoed in AC

I am well aware that the Jersey casinos can't barr players but can instead restrict bets, flat bet or shuffle early. I've just never had it happen to me before. Was playing a $25 table with a couple other players. Count went positive first shoe. Last bet of the shoe was 2x8 units. Normally I leave at this point to avoid returning to one unit for the new shoe, but I had only played 15 minutes and decided to play a second shoe. I put out 2 units instead of 1 to start the new shoe. I must confess, I did not even realize the cut card had been placed 50% into the shoe. Half way through the shoe cut card comes out. Other players complain and dealer states they can shuffle when ever they desire, while looking directly at me. Both player left the table during the shuffle. I played one hand into new shuffle and then colored in. Worst part for me, was that I only play a small rotation of casinos, hitting the same 4 several times each week. I'll have to be more careful in the future. Anyone else receiving unusual heat in AC recently?

question: In the past several months, I've began betting 2 hands of 8 units in max bet situations rather than 1 hand of 12 units. Does this tend to draw more attention? I've never had a problem before.

Kewl, jumping 1 to 2 will draw heat, I do it often and love it. It is an in your face move, for sure and for certain. Panthers are just that way.

When dealers are out for me I always get the look, eye to eye for a second. The thing is when they look in my eyes they see trouble, confidence and determination...and danger. Strange.

Always be aware of the penetration in your current shoe. If you're half-shoed, get up and move immediately. Sticking around isn't going to fool anyone. Just go to another pit or casino.

On my last trip, my buddy and I had decided to color up and head for lunch while the dealer was shuffling. That was until I saw the dealer cut 1/2 deck off an 8 deck shoe. That changed my mind pretty quickly.

two hands is definitely preferable when there are other players at the table, so you get to eat more of the high cards.

In terms of heat, it could go either way. I personally like being able to go to two hands, and also semi-randomly switch between one and two hands if it's a + count, or if I'm playing heads-up.

They can't half-shoe you if you're not at the table when they put the cut card in, can they?
Hasn't happened to me, but it's my understanding that yes they can shuffle at will, cut card or no cut card. I do try to wong in some, but as discussed prior, more and more $25 tables and up in AC are NMSE. I also play only a few casinos there over and over and backcounting, wonging in on plus counts, playing only a few hands and leaving as the count tanks seems like it would draw more attention. I see the same dealers and pit people numerous times each week.
