As of yesterday, all the mid-shoe entry tables at Caesar's AC are now H17
I found that out the hard way yesterday when the dealer hit on a soft 17. She pointed to the felt saying the new rule just started.

Their 8D NMS tables remain S17 - whoopie!

That's a nasty thing that seems to be spreading. Seems like the conditions are getting worse. I guess their theory is to try to offset their loss of overall business to the PA slots.

I'm going to be staying at Harrah's this weekend and I'm interested to see if they are still playing no peek.

Yes it looks like all of HET in AC is going H17, and I'd guess eventually the whole town will.

The irony of it all is: the way most ploppies play H17 will not help the casinos very much, not as much as it will hurt counters. Ploppies stand too much and the H17 rule will cause the dealer to bust some hands he would have won otherwise.

Astute observation Monkman, I wonder if any of those pecil-necked cone heads ever actually put their hypothetical theories to an actual reality test before they go ahead and implement them.

I guess i never looked at it this way. The only people this will hurt are the basic strategists, who likely have some knowledge about the quality of games and just wont play so the casino looses their business. Brilliant Monkey!

you would really think that they would give the rules that would make the ploppy strategy modified bs have the highest house advantage rather then the small amount of BS players out there and counters. I wonder if they ever do take this into consideration or just look at a pure BS house edge.

The decision was made by some executive trying to make himself look good, and that's all there is to it. He probably presented his bosses with these charts and spreadsheets explaining how much more money H17 will make, and when it doesn't he probably already has his BS explanation why prepared. He might blame it on the smoking ban or something.

After all the EV for a BS player in either game will be the same vs dealer upcards 7 thru 10, the very ones a ploppy might be most likely to stand too often against.

How often will even a ploppy's ploppy stand too often against 2-6?. But if he does stand on some 12's vs 2 or 3, he will lose a little less.

And I think pretty much the same goes vs dealer Ace against stiff hands. If he stands in H17, he's actually lucking out compared to S17.

So I guess, like you say, they might actually win a little less against players who stand too often.

Then again, maybe there are ploppies who hit too often too lol.
