There are lots of ways to potentially beat the game. Most of the techniques are the same ones used for blackjack and other card games. I believe we have some old threads that give some good sources to get you started.

I thought baccarat wasn't countable too, - until an asian dealer at a local store seen I was counting cards playing blackjack, she then told me to about baccarat.

Now I rarely play blackjack, I find making money playing baccarat a lot easier. And I have made more money playing baccarat then I have playing blackjack.

Dealers are typically one of the worst sources of strategy information. Most of the time they don't even know the correct BS for the game they are dealing. This is a perfect example of that. Counting cards at baccarat is a complete waste of time. I've never seen any legitimate book that shows another viewpoint. I can assure you that the dealer's opinion is less accurate than the published information. The dealer probably hasn't even read any of it. Congratulations on winning money, but you really should research the topic before you wager any more money.

I have counted cards at Baccarat - but all that it does is reduce the House Advantage.

This is good ONLY if you are "playing for comps";

otherwise it is an "exercise in masochism."

care to explain the tags to reduce the HE in baccarat ?

I mean surely this is a cheap way for cover if it is possible to reduce HE!

PM me if this is not to be made public!

baccarat

So is there no advantage technique worthwhile when playing baccarat where the cards are shuffled with an ASM and pen is one deck off an eight-deck shoe? The cards are used once only, new shoe = new cards.

If counting is futile, I can only think of one other advantage technique using this game --and that is having information of a what a single card is in the shoe and sometimes knowing if this card will go to banker or player, I don’t consider this to be any worthwhile advantage though.

If there is advantage technique(s), could you send them to me by PM????
I'll tell you advantage play that I know, that is not in any book or on the internet --to my knowledge.

There are plenty of other ways to get an advantage in baccarat, although they are not necessarily applicable to any specific casino. It all depends on what kind of game they offer, what procedures they follow and what kinds of promotions they have. Once you learn the techniques you will know how to tell if any specific game is valuable or not. A few good sources would be Steve Forte's "Casino Game Protection", George Joseph's "Effects of Marked Cards in a Baccarat Game", Wong's "Casino Tournament Strategy" and, or course, "Beyond Counting Exhibit CAA."

Sonny, I was looking for a yes/no answer to whether there was any worthwhile advantage play to the baccarat game I described.

I have noticed by looking at the State of New Jersey Casino Commission's monthly gross revenue reports,

(Dead link: http://www.state.nj.us/casinos/financia/mthrev/)

that the hold on the baccarat tables is frequently very low, and many times even negative.

I have not been to AC, does anyone know if TRUMP TAJ MAHAL CASINO RESORT (which had a -75% hold for their baccarat tables in April 2009, -4% hold in June 2009, - 13% hold in July 2009) uses or used last spring/summer hand shuffles for their baccarat tables?
