Smile Lucky Lady side bets

Does anyone know the stats to getting the lucky lady side bet? In general and as a rule to me, side bets are a complete gamble and a waste of money. However, is there any mathematical way to win them? I am good at figures and percents and things of that nature, but I have read about it and have yet to see any substantial evidence on them to make them seem viable. Thanks

We seem to get this question every few weeks. You can use the Search function to find some old threads that talk about beating the side bet using different counting systems, or this link can give you the basics:

Sidebets can be extremely profitable. (Insurance is a sidebet too.) They're one of those things we don't often talk openly about, but LL is an exception because it has been thoroughly dissected in available literature.

What count are you using, number of decks, and does a suited 20 pay 9:1 or 10:1?

What... he left out the JSTAT count!

The reason why the unbalanced 10-count and KO didn't work that well is that the strike point is too far away from the pivot point of the count to work very well. Unlike with insurance, where the strike point is exactly at the pivot point thus it gives you a correlation of 1. For LL you really want to true count.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. I will do some research on it, I wasn't even sure if it was worth while to investigate! Oh, and I had no idea that insurance was a side bet! I guess when I think about it, it completely is. I normally always pick relatively well on those.. whew! Thanks again!

True count= arch-nemesis

I am not a fan of true count. I guess if I decide I really would like to play them, I will have to befriend true count. Sad day

I discovered the LL side bet a few years ago at Colusa Casino and was successful at high counts. I was rolling along receiving 20 after 20 with the high count draining down until the count went below a true count of +2. I did not side bet the next hand, and of course, nailed two queen of hearts, the dealer couldn't believe the bet wasn't made. I still win at LL, thanks to the modified Ten Count (JSTATII). The tags of the count are, 2-9= +1 vs tens= -2 (excluding aces) while aces are side counted to achieve the best results for the LL bet. QFIT needs to revise his e-book to include this advantage play count regarding the Lucky Ladies side bet.
