New Kevin Spacey Movie about Card Counting

#1
Check this out,A new Hollywood movie is coming out on march 21 2008.It is a movie about the mit team that took down Las Vegas. It star Kevin Spacey,Laurence Fishburne, and Kate Bosworth.
What does everyone think about this.Do you think it will help or be a bad thing for blackjack. It will surely make more people want to try blackjack and also make them want to try counting. Will the casinos welcome this or will they fear it and try to make the game harder to win at.They will diffently make more money than ever before.

first in line

I will be first in line on the first line at the first showing at my local theater. I think the movie is going to be great fun to watch especially for us AP's.

Hopefully they will make a comment in the movie about how bad 6:5 games are. Then maybe people will stay away from them.
I'm going to wear a shirt that has a big no 6:5 symbol on it when I go see the film:cool2:

It seems to me that the movie is step in the normal evolution of a dying art.

Smart BJ is going to be so common a thing to do that everyone will be doing it.

Casinos will now need to endure these new movie players.

I think its a bad thing, it makes things to well known.

You know who you sound like? All the guys that said counting was dead a few years after thorp. And when they got rid of the single deck games. And after the MIT teams and...

I think people are almost going to play worse because they will bet more and start playing off raw emotion thinking they know how to get the edge. Even BS, people know what it is what they should do but they don't follow it. Main thing is most people gamble off emotion which will always take over.

im lookin forward for the movie though :)

I'll eagerly wait for it to come to cable (shouldn't be long). Like that Matt Damon movie where he's a poker player, I think it'll get people interested in the game again (but maybe after the fact as poker had already exploded by then?).
I've been playing BS for about 15 years (attempt at counting at Barbary Coast...too long ago, probably gave the PCs a good laugh, gave it up as I'd rather drink my beer and not think too much). In that 15 years I think the average folks are using BS more, maybe another reason, besides greed, that casinos went to 6:5.
