It's hard to find that much information on casinos on the Gulf Coast. I plan on playing in Biloxi, Gulfport and New Orleans area on a regular basis starting in late August early September. Would anyone be interested in exchanging info on the the playing conditions?

I would

I play in Philadelphia almost weekly, but I want to check out Biloxi, Gulfport and the New Orleans area. My schedule for being able to make it down there will be highly variable.

How often do you think you will be playing down there? I plan on playing weekly except for when midterms and finals come around. Couple more casinos will be opening in August. I heard Biloxi area will have more casinos than it used to have.

Haven't been since Katrina, but I hear that gaming revenues are far exceeding what they were pre-K. You looking for a particular city, or the Southern coast in general? Start in N.O., migrate to Biloxi, then spend a couple of days in Gulf Shores or Destin on the beach.
I am looking for info for casinos from New Orleans to Biloxi , but mostly Biloxi area. Played at Treasure Chest and Harrah's after Katrina. According to Boomtown's New Orleans website they only have SD and DD games and Belle of Orleans I think is still closed.

Might be a bit further to drive, but both have some pretty good tables.
I might stop by and play for awhile in Shreveport on my next road trip. Tunica and Shreveport are about four times the distance than Biloxi and New Orleans casinos are just a few minutes away.

Biloxi or bust...this week!

Biloxi is alive and well.... Isle of Capri, IP, Palace and Boomtown all have 1 and 2 deck games. The SD games are mostly watered down and have poor payoffs or you have to sacrifice on splits and doubles. If you are willing to play green, they have fantastic DD games. BJ pays 3:2 and dealer stands on 17. Split any two and double any two. They are all pitch games but the dealers are pretty good about giving you enough time to see all the hands. The cut is not so good, you only get about 50% or 60% penetration, only about three or four hands per round. When the table is full, less! By the time you get a good count, it is time to re-shuffle. Two more casinos scheduled to reopen by the end of the month. Comps have been pretty good from the Isle and from IP. When more casinos open the comps should improve (I hope).
Anyone else go to Biloxi on a regular basis? I am going again this week.
Since the hurricane I have been going about every other week. About two or three times a month.

Are the only SD games they have 6:5? Are the casinos still packed? I was hoping when more casinos started to open playing conditions would get better.

Biloxi SD and DD games....

Yes, the SD games are all 6:5. Some of the SD games are $15 minimum, but most of them are $25. They change according to how crowded the casino is. The casinos are not too crowded on the weekdays. On the weekends it is very full and hard to find a good spot. On a weekday you can find a good spot at any BJ table. The weekends are little bit more of a challenge. Just a side note, most of the Biloxi casinos consider the weekend starts late Thursday or early Friday. I have seen the table limits increased on Thursday and not drop again until Midday Monday!
Isle, Palace and Boomtown are your best bets during the week. The IP is crowded most of the time, even on weekdays. I don't know why, they offer the weakest pitch games and are the smokiest and the loudest. The Palace normally offers only one or two pitch games, but they have such small crowds, it is not a problem getting in. The Isle offers three SD and DD games most all of the time. They open more tables when the crowd picks up on the weekends. I have found the Isle offers the best pitch games that are easy to get into.
Treasure bay is also open but only has slot machines. The Grand and Beau-Rivage should both be open by the end of the month.
I am leaving in the morning, going to Biloxi for three days. Sure hope the BJ tables are running hot. Last three trips (one to Vegas and two to Biloxi) I won about $1,600.00 total. Lots of ups and downs. My wife borrows from me and ends up playing from my bankroll. She lost about $1,500.00 on the last three trips to offset my wins. Ouch!! She will not be with me on this trip. I sure hope I can make up for the recent trips and help my bankroll.

Are there any other Biloxi, BJ or craps players on this message board / web site?

Winning trip at Biloxi Casinos

Biloxi trip was great. Played a lot of craps and a lot of DD pitch BJ. Craps was entertaining (and slightly profitable!) This was the first trip that I was able to count (used hi-opt 1) with some accuracy and was actually able to keep track and see some of the differences in the game based on counting. There were a few times when I lost track of the count, but two things would save me. First, in two deck pitch with 50% or 60% pen, the end of the round was never more than one or two hands away. Second, was I could check my current (or last) bet, if it was one unit there must have been a low or neg count, or if there were several units out, there had to have been a pos count. I am still new to counting. I play the $25 DD pitch games. I still lack the confidence to raise my bets by whole units ($25 increments), so I raise my $25 minimum bet with $5 units. If the count is up +2, I will raise one unit ($5) up to $30. When the count is up +3, I raise two units up to $35...etc. If I get a count that is +5 or more I will go all the way to $50. That happened only once and I lost that hand which ended up also being a double down (lost $100.) Anyway, the three days had a lot of hot streaks and cold runs. At one point I was up $800, by the time the ups and downs were over and it was time to go home, I was up $300. For me that is a very good trip.
There were several sessions with other players whose bets reflected increases at the same time as mine. I assumed they were counting also! They only bet green and always increased in green units. Usually in units slightly above my own. Most of the time if I had my one green and two red units on the felt, the other players had four or five green units out. The dealer also may have been keeping track. He made a few suggestive statements to one of the regular players when bets were high. Counting changes the whole complection of this game. The only thing that is tough (to me) is that just because the count increases, doesn't mean you will win the upcoming hands. The cards coming out may have been high as expected, most of the time the dealer or other players received the best hands. I won very few pos count hands. Most of the time I won my hands when the count was on its way down. Most of my wins were double downs and splits. I also won most of the hands at low counts just playing two deck BS.
Already planning my next trip. Next trip will be by the end of the month. May even have two more trips this month. Since I have started playing the $25 min game, the complementaries have been coming very regular. The comps make it worth going every other week almost. One casino sends me and my wife two free rooms for three days each for a total of four free rooms per month. We then can take friends or family with us on each trip. They can stay for free and help split the fuel expenses and the driving. All the meals are complimentary, which leaves our only expense, the cost of gambling! The cash comps I receive along with the slot comps my wife receives help also.
Can't wait for the next trip!

Word is, it is not getting better

avs, I was told by one of the dealers, that when the Grand opened later this month, their table games would be $25 min. Don't quote me, because I have no way of confirming this. I do not know if this is fact or fiction. They can do whatever they want, but I personally don't think they can do that and stay competitive. They may get a few hi-rollers who can afford those games, while weeding out the lower betters. Crowd control if you know what I mean. It will also give them a fresh list of the hi-rollers in the area so they can start rebuilding their comp database. This may also just be their way of limiting the crowd since their casino is supposed to be smaller than before. The other casino due to open at the end of the month is the Beau. Their games will probaby be the same as before the hurricane.
If anyone else has info on upcomming openings or inside info on casino future plans and events, please chime in.
Any other Biloxi regulars out there?
