Buffets may become a thing of the past?

How did this get turned into a political discussion anyway? The point of the OP was merely to warn people of a specific danger to the public. Knowledge is power, and this sort of power can save lives; possibly yours and mine.

I guess it probably IS time to lock this. The point was made anyway. In the future I'll try to be much more careful IF and when I post something to the "News" forum.

Because God wanted it that way.

Now we just need someone to click the red triangle and report my post as an attempt to inject RELIGION into a POLITICAL discussion, and we should be on our way!

If you listen to his COMPLETE statements on Las Vegas, you'll find that in CONTEXT, his comments are MORE damaging to the city that even the MEDIA can portray. It matters not that the guy suffers from diarrhea of the mouth at times, the damage was done; Las Vegas convention business has fallen DRAMATICALLY in the last couple of years, and it can EASILY be argued that the POTUS's statements did not help.

Rather than just repeating the White House talking points, maybe you should at least listen to the soundbites, and decide for YOURSELF. I don't see how any reasonable person could possibly conclude that either statement was anything OTHER than Obama advising people to stay away from Vegas:

I agree he did say some damaging things about vegas. oh well. It's true, the links you provided are pretty honest about the state of affairs for the economy and people shouldnt be blowing their money in vegas. he evenstates that "...families do a better job of keeping their budget in order by paying for bills first and not blowing it on trips to vegas, UNLIKE WHAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES." There is also nohard proof that the convention business dropped off becaouse of Obama's statements. and even if the first few conventions that were set to be located in vegas were cancelled becuase of him, so be it. The link you provided talks about how some taxpayers were outraged by the fact that companies with corporate bailout money were having their $100,000/day spa retreats and LAS VEGAS conventions on my dime.

on the other hand, he did approve of a monorail project that would provide a direct link from LA to Vegas. maybe he doesn't hate vegas?

It started at post #2. But then again, the topic of terrorism should make the reasons pretty self explanatory.

Oh man, this thread is so gonna get locked, I would bet one of my max bets on it. NOT!!!!!

I appreciate the warning, but after the last 28 pounds I put on since May, I've sworn off casino buffets entirely, and I won't eat at one no matter what the President now says! Further, I have yet to confess the sin of gluttony.
