Hi Guys,

Quite new to the blackjack scene but just wondering if you know of any good casinos round the Birmingham/Midlands area for Blackjack. As i said I am quite new to BJ and counting but I understand if a casino uses a CSM then this eliminates all advantages of card counting so surely best not to touch any of these tables with a barge pole?

Cheers,

If you are a recreational player who simply wishes to gamble when the house enjoys a modest advantage then you are free to play BlackJack against a CSM.

Card counting is not possible when a C.S.M. is employed.

If you are in Birmingham, AL then your best bets lie in Mississippi.

The Gulfport/Biloxi MS Casinos and the Tunica, (Robinsonville) MS Casinos [near Memphis] should both be about a 5 hr. drive for you.

BUT … you need to spend the coming months studying and practicing first.

Birmingham, Mississippi? Nice one Flash! Clue wasn't in the fact the OP was in the "Europe" section of the board? Contrary to the popular belief of many in the States (well over half of whom I'm told don't possess a passport, and where a large number have only ever travelled abroad care of the Pentagon) the world is bigger than the USA . . . .

Make a point of visiting Gala casinos, all of whom use 6 deck shoes. The Gala website will provide a list.

Good luck.

Birmingham Casinos

Hiya,

If your serious about making money, the Gala casinos are fantastic. They use 6 deck shoes, BUT the penetration is fantastic, most shuffles are simple one pass R&Rs, and I have never got heat.

If your willing to travel a little further, visit Grosvenor in Walsall. Its a 4 decker =)

Machinist,

If you choose to visit our fair land, please be aware you will have to speak the Queen's English, drink tea and flat-ish dark beer, get use to pi$$ poor service, drive a car that could probably be parked in your own vehicle's glove compartment and pay the equivalent of $9 a gallon for "gas".

As to Gala casinos, I would think the first time you put out a bet of more than £100 a hand there'd be a sharp intake of breath from whoever it is who has the turn of supervising the tables and all eyes would be on you. And, of course, all of the staff there know that every American betting hefty amounts (relatively speaking) must be a card counter.

Let me know when you're planning to visit. I'll see you in Brum.

Have they figured out yet how to mix hot and cold water together to come out of a single tap? Or is it still a separate tap for each?
