So I've posted several times contradicting more experienced advice concerning camo and heat, stating that "my store doesn't know better" yadda yadda, and here I am, making my "First Backoff Post!" So I got the first scar on my record, and I cannot play blackjack or Spanish 21 at the **** casino in the NW (PM me... I'll risk a guess as to whether or not I can trust ya ), but, of course, the damn slots are open.

It had to be my 14th time at the spot. I walked in with a friend, cocky-as-a-newbie-would-be and ready to show off my abilities. My buddy goes to take a piss while I buy in at a six-deck because it was lower stakes and it wasn't pitch, so for him to warm up it would work well. The dealer was shuffling while I sat down and I bought in and waited patiently. The PB looked at me, and then looked at me again as if to confirm that it was this strange-looking dude who didn't belong who he'd seen numerous times before drinking, smoking... and winning over a 100 units in a series of short trips.

"(insert my real name here), right?" His voice was kind and unthreatening. I knew I was fawked, but I could almost call it "being made love to" considering the ego tickle I got from knowing I was not just lucky... I was threatening the profit margins of this establishment! My inner punk rawk returns in a less-than-musical fashion .

So, I learned that if someone is willing to build and run a casino, then they're probably also willing to learn to recognize an AP. Perhaps this reality check will keep me awake!

I feel for you Gothic. Been there, done that. The feeling of invincibility disappears rather quickly.:whip: I think it's part of the natural learning process. There is nothing that brings about change like necessity.

It's at one and the same time confirming that you're doing something right and emptiness that there is now one place you can no longer play. One thing you know for sure, you will always be more careful from now on. You don't want this to spread. May your first back off be your last. Probably wishful thinking. Actually it's a miracle that they don't all catch us after a few visits. It's no mystery what we're doing for those in the know.

The dealer was shuffling while I sat down (I watched the AD/BE/CF - 14/25/36 shuffle tracking pattern I'd seen dozens of times before I realized single deck games were superior in lots of cases) and I bought in and waited patiently. The PB looked at me, and then looked at me again as if to confirm that it was this strange-looking dude who didn't belong who he'd seen numerous times before drinking, smoking... and winning over a 100 units in a series of short trips.

My sincere condolences.:(

In the future, check the attitiude at the door, and dress like a clean cut up and coming young professional, or maybe in your case college student.

There is a good chance you may have been put into the data base, you may PM me the casino, and if that be the case you will eventually have some real problems on an ongoing basis.

Some of the most highly skillz players I know had to stop playing altogether, give it up, because they just were not allowed to play the game, anywhere, anymore:sad:

Blackjack like life is full of ups and downs. I try to learn something from every experience, but especially the 'downs', in an attempt to not repeat the same mistakes. Sounds like you did learn a little something from this experience, G, not only about this casino, but a little something about yourself, that may benefit you in the future, so all is not lost. Keep your head up, adjust your plan of attack and hit 'em again! :)
