The first rule about Illegal Activities is that you don't talk about Illegal Activities.
Yeah and rule number two is not to trust people who publicly tell you about illegal activities.

Not enough to bail you out of prison when you get caught. That is if you plan on using it in a casino
That is if they take you to prison. In countries like Russia and Columbia the people who own casinos are not the type ot businessmen you want to negotiate with.

Feloniously Serious Consequences.

I do not know if it is a Class C or a Class D or whatever, but it is
clearly a felony conviction that will be indefensible if you are caught.

Misdemeanors and Violations I can handle.

Felonies are not to be sneezed at.

Jesus!!!! relax guys. I never said i was going to use it. All i asked was if the device actually works in a 6-deck game that is all. So easy on the felony and jail time. Let's focus on the question. thanks.

Yeah, you're right, I guess we should focus on the question at hand.

While we're at it, let's talk about the best way to grab a handful of $500 chips and run for the door, and whether selling crack in a casino bathroom is effective at padding your bankroll or not.

And since laws seem to be totally irrelevant in this thread, might I suggest that you go and get a bunch of fake passports and a few sawed-off shotguns so that when the police come after you, you're well-armed, and if they somehow nab you, they can't find your real ID.

You know, just in case crack or grand theft or using a computer to play blackjack at a casino ever becomes legal.

Ken Uston's last book had a bunch on using a computer in the 80's right before they were illegalized in nevada.

The advantage of perfect play is pretty enormous. But I guess it helps a lot if the game has deep penetration, which is where you can get the truly unusual plays.

Well it may not be illegal in the Galapagos Islands for all that I know. L.O.L.

So ... where do you reside?

On a serious note, there were news articles earlier this year about a team that used hidden electronic devices to beat the roulette wheels in a London Casino (for HUGE money) and were ultimately exonerated by a court, (after spending some time in jail I believe)

The use of devices/computers in casinos that purely provide advice using information that is freely available to anybody, are not illegal in the UK. A device that effected game play would be illegal. So if the guys you're talking about used a device to make the roulette ball land on a particular number then they properly go to jail. If they were using a device to purely predict where the ball lands then they were doing nothing illegal and should only get a casino barring.

The problem is this, If the casino catches you using a computer they will try to hold back your chips, bar you and more than likely call the police. Because this is a dark area of the law, the police are likely to try to prosecute, from then it's up to the Crown Prosecution Service to decide if you are taken to court or not. If taken to court, you shouldn't lose the case, and any prosecution could be overturned, as with the guys you mentioned. You would have your equipment & chips confiscated until the case was won or dropped, you would have loads of hassle and would need to front the money for legal bills but you shouldn't end up behind bars.

The Casino's in the UK don't seem to have a clue either, although there are crap BJ rules such as NO INS & ENHC the games are wide open. I usually play a 1-50 spread and on many occasions have played 1-100 without even a raised eyebrow, try that in the States!
