NEW FortuneTeller Blackjack Game Coming soon!

#1
This NEW game will likely replace all High-Tie Blackjack games as well as Lucky Ladies Blackjack games.
The game is called FortuneTeller Blackjack. You can start by placing a blackjack wager or place the same table min wager on your hand to bust instead. This wager pays 2:1. The dealer will deal your hand house ways.If you choose to play a blackjack hand you will have several different side wager possibilities. You may bet (or predict your hand outcome) on 17 (pays 6:1), 18 (pays 6:1), 19(pays 6:1), 20 (pays 4:1) or 21 (pays 10:1).A limit of one prediction wager on the above wagers is in place. Then you can predict a Tie with the dealer and this pays 8:1.And the last wager is the Blackjack prediction wager which pays 12:1.But if the dealer gets ablackjack as well, it causes the 12:1 payout to change to 100:1.If you are playing 2 hands and both hands predict blackjack and they both get blackjack and the dealer does as well... each hand has scored a Triple Blackjack and pays 1,000:1 each!!!Its going to start being played in Las Vegas FIRST, and this is almost uheard of when a game STARTS in Las Vegas.Keep your eye out for that one!

There are nights when I know I need to play a "dead hand" to keep the patterns falling...might be worth it once in a while for kicks...and camo.

so when the count is really high, and all you expect are 10's and A's, then those side bets are starting to look nice to me.

Where did you get this information from?

That's a HUGE sucker bet, about the equivalent of taking insurance with the TC at -2. The payout should be changed to 5:2 or else no sane person would play that.

Nevada Field Trials

So stakits, which casino is doing the field trial for your new game?
Ken, normally with side-bets, Nevada Gaming do not request that a field trial has to be performed. As long as the bet does not affect the way the main game is played the approval is normally a lot quicker and then it can be installed into any Nevada casino without a trial.

It seems to me that the bet could have some vulnerability to counting hence, as with Lucky Ladies, the house edge has to be high to compensate. The 100/1 double Blackjack may tempt some play although, in my opinion, players will be reluctant to bet on themselves busting (as they can't urge it on during play).

The '20' bet appears to have a higher house edge than the 17, 18 & 19, bets (if I have my math' correct) and this is probably due to it being more vulnerable to a regular count system.

I believe that Lucky Ladies gets around 5% participation and my gut feeling is that this will be close to the participation on this bet.

Let's say I bet the table min and place a table min bet on one of the side bets. What stops me from steering my hand towards one of the payouts, particularly bust? Or is the side bet limited to a very small percentage of the regular bet?

It seems that if you place the side-bet then you have to play the 'house way' i.e. draw to 16 or lower and stand on 17 and above.

Oh, geez Louise, they could offer an EV+ side bet and it wouldn't make up for the ~10% house edge on playing like the dealer.

The Mimic the Dealer requirement seems to apply only if you make the "Bust" wager.

Hmm, I wonder in that case then whether you are allowed to hit 17 if you have made a wager on the 21. It would presumably change plays such as 17 vs dealer Ace depending on the amount wagered on the side-bet.

The deviation changes from Basic Strategy would also add to the house edge as the example given gives 12 verses dealer 6 with the player hitting as they have made an '18' side wager.
