Shadroch, how much VP do you play to the the level of comps you get, and is it all VP or do you play slots? And do they have quarter FP JoB there? I've only seen it for dollars, but I don't usually pay much attention to VP.

As for AC in general, it really does suck-- primarily due to the crowded conditions. I like to play 2 hands at all times and have a hell of a time being able to do that at the $10 tables. However, there are some good games, if you know where to go. I got 85%+ pen on a recent trip to one of the off-the-boardwalk stores, and from several different dealers. Also, don't forget that there is a non-Borgata store with almost all 6-deck games-- tables that are way less crowded, as well. Keep your eyes peeled!
Where is the 6d non-borgata pit???

I did find 6 decks in the high roller pit of Caesars. It was $50 a hand at the regular 8 deck tables and $50 a hand in the high roller pit which was 6 decks. only major difference was no mid shoe entry in the high roller pit.

I also did have a good time taking Donald Trump's money last night!

Getting to,and maintaining Diamond Status is much more of an AP play than worrying about keeping the cash back.My rooms for Monday and Tuesday would have been 168.00,my meals and drinks were at least another $100,Rat Pack tickets were $70 each.
My cost $22 in taxes and about $30 in tips.
Were I able to play enough using only the free play I recieved to maintain my status,it would be great, but until then,I do what I need to do to keep my comps coming.Coming up I have three nights at Paris, two nights down at Harrahs Laughlin, and then back to Vegas for three night at Harrahs.Thats about $1,000 worth of rooms comped and I'll be snacking in the Diamond lounges most days.
Sometimes you have to spend a little to get a lot.
Thanks for clarifying that! Keep up the good work then! :)

They deal 6D at Trump Plaza and the Hilton on the main floors.

Stop worrying about 6D vs 8D!!! The way you beat the game in AC it makes very little difference. All you are really looking for is penetration and being able to get in and out of games.

Okay,a silly question.
If you are wonging in and out,why do you need to worry about penetration?
Of course you do. The better the penetration the more variation in the count. That means bigger negative counts and bigger positive counts. You are wonging so you only care about the bigger positive counts. So with better penetration you are much more likely to see a good positive count.

So if you wong into a game with good penetration you are more likely to see a big negative count and wong out, as well as more likely to see a good count and stay. On the other hand, if you wong into a shoe with bad penetration you will see lesser swings in the count and will be playing slightly negative or slightly positive counts waiting for something major to happen to the count. But with the bad penetration it's less likely the count will drop or rise as siginificantly as a game with good penetration.

Instead of wonging in any slightly positive count, and you want to wait for a good positive count to jump in. Well, same logic applies. You are less likely to find those good positive counts on a bad penetration game. And once you find it and wong in, it is not as likely to go up any furthur.

So penetration is still just important to a wonger.

AM,

In your opinion (or anyone else's for that matter), which casinos have the best pen. in AC?

One additional effect: when you get your good counts you will likely be well into the shoe. The more rounds you have left in the shoe, the more profit you will make.

Let's say you have one dealer cutting a 8D shoe down to 2 decks, and another dealer cutting it down to 1 deck. You hit your entry point at both shoes right in the middle, at 4 decks. With the bad pen dealer you will have only 2 decks left to play, and with the good pen dealer you will have 3 decks. That's 50% more EV!

It's almost completely hit and miss. I've found some good pen at the Hilton, then again I've found some terrible pen there. It tends to be a little bit better at Ballsy's than at the WWW next door. Resorts is usually better than Showboat, but sometimes not. This is why I prefer to stay on the Boardwalk than to go to the Borgata. True, the average pen at the Borgata is better than the average on the Boardwalk but there are so many games being dealt on the Boardwalk, chances are the best pen being dealt on that day will be there.

Think of it like the Chinese basketball team. Sure the Chinese are on the average short but when you have close to 2 billion people to choose from it's easy to field a team of 7-footers.

Your explanation doesn't make sense to me.

Let's say the count is good when you enter the shoe. That means there are an excess of high cards in the shoe. Will that ratio remain for the rest of the shoe? I doubt it. It may last for a few hands, or the advantage could wash out after one round, if a lot of 20s are dealt. But stay until the cut card? I don't think so...

I believe better pen. is useful when the count goes up near the end of play. With less cards remaining, the probability of pulling those high cards is greater.

You're killing me with the basketball team analogy. Thanks for the info...I'm staying on the Boardwalk Sunday night.
