I can't think of any good store you should play at though, maybe the rivers high limit room? They have s17 with a ok pen, although the pen seems to get worse and worse everyday... Their csm tables were at $25 during busy hours, by busy hours I mean from noon till late nite. Horseshoe has bad pen too but maybe getting better since rivers is now open. Is there any underground casino I don't know of that you will be playing at ?

Illinois casinos pay the highest state tax rates in the nation;
so it is hard for them to offer "good" BJ conditions.

Consider the opportunities in nearby Southwestern Indiana.

If you play at Joliet you will be mailed regular comps for table play and free rooms but there is little else around the area and the BJ is merely ok. Horseshoe Hammond is a little better and comps food and has a decent steakhouse. They also have SP21. Again the BJ is avg. Flash is correct that Horseshoe Southern Indiana has better games, better rules ($5 tables with no pen deduction, surrender option). Great comps for room and food and again a very nice steakhouse. I did not experience much heat and found the pit to be friendly at all three.

Did the horseshoe in southern indiana get better? Because the last time I was there it was trash.
they had alot of flooding earlier this year and it created alot of problems. i go there quite often when my business brings me through the midwest. decent rooms, good steakhouse, pool, fitness room, etc. I am recognized by the pit and I am treated well. Therefore, I use it as a home base and don't draw alot of deliberate attention to myself at the tables, but it is possible to spread. I have found the games to be decent with friendly dealers, good pen, etc. They will occasionally have five dollar games or will switch a limit if you ask. eight deck SP21 is usually five dollars. SD and DD are twenty-five. When busy you usually have two-four SD and DD and eight-ten or so six deck tables to choose from mostly ten dollar min. (They flip-flop sometimes from six to eight decks) Most often when I am there the surrender option is avail. Many of the six/eight deck tables have LL side bet.

about 2 decks at the 8 deck 5-10 dollar tables. about 1.5 at the six deck shoe. rarely worse but can happen with new dealer. usually better esp if you are at the table for a while with the same dealer and you tip occasionally. maybe slightly better pen at the 25 dollar table. been a while since i played higher limits.

am headed thu that area in a few weeks and will scout out the SD and DD pen. i dont usually play those games at that loc. try to stay below the radar and prostitute myself for steakhouse comps.

Regards, MoN

UPDATE:

Was there last wknd. The DD pen was not good. They were dealing about 60 cards. The table min was $25.

There are no more 8 deck BJ shoes, (exception SP21). The penetration was about 1.5-1.3/4 decks of 6. On Sunday night the table minimum jumped to $15. Ironically Monday there were a half a dozen 6 deck BJ tables with a $5 min for most of the day. The late surrender option was available at all tables.
Tables are split btwn three card poker and lucky ladies on the sidebet.

The pit advised they were told by corporate on Aug 1 to cut out table comps. They don't expect it to last very long.
