Best DD penetration

#1
Can someone PM me some places to find good penetration on DD possibly on the North end of ths strip (I will be staying at the Riveria next weekend)? I have been playing Hi/Lo with indexes for the last few months at Indian casino's and have everything down and would plan to play about a 1-10 spread on $10-$25 min table. I don't really care about heat because I won't be going back to Vegas for a while anyway but I really want to find the place with the best penetration and that has plenty of uncroweded DD tables to take advantage of the good counts even if I have to play at 3-5am. If someone can confirm that TrackJack has the most up to date information on this, I would be willing to pay the $20 (3 month subscription) but I didn't really want to since I am only going to be out in Vegas for 3 days. Any info would be appreciated.

If you're looking for penetration on DD on the Strip, it's all pretty much dealer-dependent. There is no fixed rule we can help you with. Very few DD tables down there are going to allow you a low minimum, except maybe Slots-a-Fun, where the blackjack is about as much fun as a root canal.

Bribes are still in fashion.
I assume you are saying to bribe the dealer to cut deeper in the deck by tipping? I have no problem doing this but have tried to think of ways to do it without being obvious to the dealer or the house that you are tipping for a deeper cut so you can get more hands out of positive counts. How do you tip them to cut deeper without making them think you are a counter?

Keep thinking :) How do you tip them to cut deeper without making them think you are a counter? I personally would say, just before they took the cards out the shoe, that I would like to play a few more hands-very politely- and offer them a chip.. or offer to play a hand for them. :)
Hope this helps

MGM properties offer a consistent cut because they use a slot in the discard tray.

Venetian and Palazzo cut about 50%.

Trackjack information is out of date.

Thanks for the info. So is MGM consistently decent or consistently bad?

Thanks for the info on Trackjack, I was just about ready to sign-up. How about CBJN?

CBJN penetration information can get you close, but pen is usually the sort of thing you need to eyeball for yourself (among various dealers) to really get a trustworthy opinion.

I figured I would just have to scope it out at some of the close by casino's. The next most important thing will be finding tables that aren't crowded. Does anyone have any info on slots-of-fun, LV Hilton, Riveria, etc as far as how busy the tables get/stay on weekends?

CBJN is pretty good. Saves you time. Worth it in my opinion. Pen will still vary by dealer and shift.

CBJN is out of date for certain casinos. For example, all of the little casinos in Michigan haven't been updated in a while.

LV Hilton is mostly CSM. You do have a high limit room with decent pen on shoe games. There is also DD, but the rules are not as nice.

You really should consider downtown for more options is you are green chip and lower

Thanks for the info, I don't mind going downtown, any suggestions on which places are better to play at downtown?

I plan to play with $25 as my base unit with a 1-10 spread. Speaking of which, can anyone tell me what my bankroll will need to be (so I have an idea of how much money to take) to keep my ROR around 3-5%?

Ugh. Probably 800-1000 units would be my guess. Really depends on the game.

$25,000 for a ROR of 3-5%? That doesn't sound right. Would someone with the software that calculates this run the numbers for me? Will be playing DD, "wong" at -10 and bet basically a unit per positive count so at +10 or higher I would be betting $250 and anything higher, I will be betting the same.

Yeah, spreading 1-10 play all (-10 counts almost never happen) requires a pretty large bankroll for 3% ror. Depends a lot on the rules, too.

Also, you can play the crappier DD games and simply lower your minimum bet to $10 (25-1 spread) or even $5 (50-1 spread). The key is to jump immediately to the correct $25u bet size when the count dictates. Like jumping from $10 immediately to $100, for example.

Before the sim you must estimate total play time and hands for trip. zg

Thanks for the info, I matched that up to my CBJN and it looks like it is pretty accurate with your suggestions. The only reason I was thinking I was going to have to play $25 at negative counts was because I thought I was going to have to play at a $25 table to get decent rules and pen but it looks as though I can get them at lower value tables also now that I am finding these. Thanks again!

why NYNY?

DD is high limit only and face down. and pen is just like any other MGM property

As I said, it is dealer dependent. I have gotten good pen on a $25 DD table here.

A lot of those other places zg listed are low roller off-strip grind joints. Immediate sweat city if you bet green and almost-certain taps on the shoulder for betting black.
