Just curios. Understand that there will not be the Asian favorite games like bac and pow at the new facility and that they really want to exploit the convention center and 4000 seat theater. Supposed to be more toward business/convention.

From a dealer: they're going to try to make the old Foxwoods all Asian all the time, and get the roundeyes over to the MGM. They're also going to use the MGM to bust up the union, since the vote they had applies only to Foxwoods.

Trip Report!

20 tables- S17, DOA, DAS, LS 8D/1.8 pen
4 tables- H17, DOA, DAS, LS 8D/1.8 pen
10 tables- S17, DOA, DAS, LS, NMS high limit 6D/1.6 pen
6 tables- Spanish 21, S17 8D/1.8 pen

Shuffle procedure identical to Foxwoods. Comps interchangeable. But the pen is a little light compared to Foxwoods so I won't be getting too much play in here.

There's also a bank of full-pay VP playable for cover or tiny +EV with comps, but I'm not saying what or where. Easy to spot if you are into VP.

Decor is much like the Borgata- consider it like the Borgata but half the size. Even the waitress uniforms are similar. Dealers are younger, friendlier and all speak perfect English. (Note: this can make it harder to talk openly at the table about AP.)

A dealer told me "They were losing too many customers due to the chinks over at the other place." Yes he actually said "chinks" to me. A true intellectual giant.

Automatic Monkey was right on... I can not believe that Foxwoods allowed 8 deck tables hit soft 17. I visited early a.m and employees out numbered casino players, and yet 2 ploppies were playing the hit soft 17 table with 6 open tables. I dabbled at a $10 table-8 deck for 1 shoe heads up with the dealer and tripled my buy in but left when he decided to discuss the MIT team and explain that he counts and plays at Mohegan. I asked for a little help and guess what? The lad was lying or at least he wasn't worth a sh t. Moved to the high stakes lounge but I was the only player, stayed 2 shoes and picked up another triple buy in. My thoughts were that the eye had nothing to do but watch me. MGM filled up by noon but it's nothing compared to the Grand Pequot. I won't rush back.

MGM Failure

MGM at Foxwoods is a Huge Failure by any standards.

Go there during the week and you can fire off cannons in there without hitting anyone.

Foxwoods simply spent $300,000 on a harebrained scheme to lease the name "MGM" - intending to attract high rollers used to the MGM properties primarily in Las Vegas.

Some employees have told me that MGM is (illegally) splitting the net profits at MGM.
