Shuffle Tracking

Bought the cookbook a few months back... Read thru chapter 1 and started to practice.

Heres a quick story.

Game is 6d DAS s17 ls play all - using RPC T&A = -2

New shuffle
1 deck dealt RC= -36
2nd deck out RC= -54

played all and tripled my buy in by the end of the shoe, I have the cut card.

Dealer shuffling

Undealt get cut into four slugs and inserted into the discards, but none are inserted into the bottom 2 decks, which I notice is usual practice.

Dealt splits the shoe in half, top on my right, bottom to my left. Ok Left stack is busting with T&A. Dealer riffles, one from each L & R stack. Then 1 from L and 1 from Middle, then 1 from middle and 1 from R. Completes Riffle.

Watching the poor riffle process, all the T&A appear to have been left at the bottom of the new stack at 2.5-3 decks.

Then splits shoe, and riffles Left (bot 3d) and right (top 3d), no middle this time but each grab from the stacks never mixed, each slug was layed on top of each other but in reverse order. The first riffle, L was on top, the second the left was on bottom, and this continued to the end. It appeared to me that I now had three 1d slugs with high T&A cards.

I look at the shoe to place my cut card, asking the dealer where she thinks I should place it. You Lucky u lucky I am told.... hmmm maybe.

Knowing the bottom 1d slug is high in T&A I place the cut card 1 deck below the top taking the back slug out of play. Oh baby this is going to be good! I think to myself.

Go out with 3 units off the top, I am positive I did it right.

Cards dealt out. 4 players at the table....
Everyone gets 20 or a natural... except me, 14, no way Im going to hit with all those Tens. I Lose to dealers 4 card 18 (T & 4 deuces)

2nd hand
Everyone but dealer gets natural, except me, 17, dealer gets 20

3rd hand
Everyone gets a 20, including me, wahoo.... dealer gets a natural, dam should have insured.
I was so pissed I think the RC was -51

4 hands bring the count back up as all the little ones show up (overall a push on these 4), then 3 more hands continued out the same way as the first 3 although I managed to win 2 of them.

And of course my wife stabs me with the, you spent how much on that cookbook? Meanwhile she was raking in the chips.

Wrong time, wrong seat or just sd....
it really bummed me out.

My cranberry juice on ice was boiling over!
Thank you for the encouragement, I will get it perfected one day!

The overconfidence cost me good as I ran with a full martingale on the first 3 hands, then gave up. Made it back later in the shoe when the third slug came to play.

and yes, 5-6 BJ's dealt in 3 rounds.

Shuffle tracking is a very difficult skill to perfect and you have to exploit relatively simple shuffles. Most casinos have a 3-4 step shuffle that I believe is useless to try to track. Even if you find an exploitable shuffle, you would have to almost have a team that covers every spot to make it profitable. If there is anyone using this forum who successfully tracks, will you p/m me so we can correspond. I suspect that few players can really do it with any reliability.

accuracy

The ability to track a slug of ten rich cards is just that ability. It is an art form that if you have it, you have it, if you don't you practice. I don't practice it except in the casino under certain conditions must be met. There are a few threads that have explored some of the asspects of tracking but really none in depth. The advantage to accurately bet into the slug and of course recieve the cards you cut to front is great. It takes alot of patience and practice and a bankroll to match. blackchipjim
