In what they claim is an on-going promotion,The Trop is offering all table games players $5 an hour in Bonus Bucks. These can be placed as bets, not matchplays. It seems that this makes their BJ a positive game for the average BS player.
The Bonus Bucks are in addition to their usual comps, which tend to be pretty generous.

Laughlin...

The Trop is the old Ramada and is really a low roller casino. They are extrememly uptight over any serious play greater than $100/hand. If you are going to bet larger amounts, Harrah's is your only option in town. Also, forget about playing any single deck at the 3 joints offering it. Bet more than $25 and even alone...heads up with the dealer, you'll only get 1 or if you are lucky 2 rounds before the shuffle.
Not saying that you can't make money in town, just don't go looking for black action.

Laughlin is lo-roller paradise.I tend to hit it on the weekends to avoid the Vegas crowd.Cheap rooms, cheap drinks, low minimums, great food.
Its not the place to go if you want to toss around black chips and count.

I guess the $5 an hour would make it a postive game... if you're betting small enough. :)

Trop Xpress was one of the places were I got the most unfriendly reception playing unrated and throwing around chunky green. But, on the upside, one of the dealers had really nice cans.

This is another casino I have felt zero heat in.I keep my bets low-$5-25,and get surprisingly good comps. They are bulldogs if they see multiple greens in action.

Even betting $25-50 a hand,your EV is under $5 an hour,no?

The bulldog reception at TropX really kicked in once 2x$200 bets started being placed.

Regarding the $5, I was thinking about how it would affect a basic strategy player.

Flat-betting $5 a hand for 100 hands at 0.5% edge would be an expected loss of $2.50. So a $5 free/promo chip per hour, plus comps, is a pretty damn good deal.

For someone flat betting $100 per hand, it would be an insult.

Having played there quite a bit,the average BJ player fits the $5 flat betting profile more than any other.I find it odd that the casino would pretty much give up the little profit these tables make.
