online whoring??

hey all

i have been reading about casino whoring, where you get 100% of your deposit as a bouns. if i deposited £200 and got a £200 bonus, and only played with the casinos money you can make money by sustracting your expected loss from the bouns, e.g with a house edge of 0.40%, a wagqueering requirment of 20 times the deposit, and playing from the £200 bonus, with the house edge the expected loss would be 0.40% * £4000 = 16.00. subtract this from the £200 bonus leaves you with a total of £184 cash.

does anyone know how standard deviation effect the outcome of your winning in the long run.

any help appericated

Thanks for the link Sonny.

I was surprised to the article written by Snyder because what he did in his Hi-lo Lite is exactly what I did. What I did was I took the middle value of Wong's index for example: 12 vs. 2 =2 ; 12 vs. 3=2;
12vs4=0; 12vs5=-1 and 12vs6=-3. What I did was took the middle value which would be approximately 0 and used 0 for all 12 vs any dealer's upcard from 2-6.

I did this so that I could easily memorize the table index but I abborted this idea
because I'm a newby and don't know the exact implications to actual games.

I also used casino verite to simulate my indexes but again I'm too sacred to try something that professionals did not try.

thanks for the link sonny, great article

i have read the table and as i understand going from the example provided if i was flat betting £1 a hand for 16hours of play, my expected loss would be 5.18 units, with the biggest standard deviation being a loss of £157.07, if only playing from a £200, this would still leave me with £42.93. Is this right? thanks for all the help

Yes. However, that chart is based on 60 hands per hour. An online player can easily get 200 or more hands per hour. The numbers will be very different in that case.

That isn’t necessarily the biggest loss. There is still a very small chance (0.15%) that you will lose more than 157 units after 16 hours of play. Also, there is a good chance that you will lose more than that before you reach 16 hours of play. If you lose your entire bankroll after 10 hours then you can’t keep playing and don’t have a chance to win some back. Standard deviation only tells you what sort of results to expect at the end of a session, not during the session. That is why you can’t use standard deviation alone to determine risk of ruin or bankroll requirements. Schlesinger calls this the "premature bumping into the barrier" effect in his book.

Maybe more than you want to know, but...

If you want to make a new chart, with different hands per hour, Sonny explains how to do that in this thread.

this work was only based on theory, however i believe that Casion on net offer a 100% deposit bonus up to $200.
Yeah thats right you can get $200 100% sign up and also reload bonuses. Different sites offer different offers, make such you check the WR in the T&C's on each site because they vary alot. Your original post said £200 ($400) if you find this much anywhere let me know. :grin:
