Looking for 'my game' in Vegas

#1
Hi
first post here, and I could do with some advice. I've been to Vegas a few times and never placed a bet! But, after the last trip I thought I better learn how to play BlackJack and sat down with the books and the software.

So, a year on, I'm 100% there on Basic Strategy - but I don't count cards. I've also started going to local casinos (in the UK-Scotland) and done not too badly so far on BS (on UK rules). But of course, these are different rules to LV - and for a start they all use CSMs here; I've never actually played against a shoe or deck, so not sure I'd miss it.

Anyway, I've relearned BS for what I gather are US rules, and I'm off to Caesars Palace in a week or so and I'm looking for something that matches the strategy I've memorised (and pays 3:2) so dealer stands on soft 17, split any pair, re-split allowed, double on any 2 cards, double after split, and surrender. Like I say, I'm really not to bothered if it's on a CSM as that's all I've ever played and I can't count cards anyway.

From what I can gather these rules would be at quite a few casinos, but where are the lower limit games - so for me $25 or less. Is there one at Caesars as that would be handy? More importantly - assuming there is a game in a particular casino how do I track down that particular table? The casinos I've played at play the same rules at every table - only the limits change.

Thanks.

(1) Welcome!

(2) Almost all of the Las Vegas Strip is H17 now. Only one of the major casinos has the rules you're looking for - Tropicana. You might be able to find a comparable game Downtown or at one of the minor casinos wedged between the big ones.

(3) If you don't mind a H17 game, you should be able to find a decent $5 (daytime) / $10 (night & weekend) H17, RSall, Dany, DAS, LS game at any of the following Strip casinos: Treasure Island, Bill's Gambling Saloon, Planet Hollywood (maybe), Monte Carlo, and Excalibur. Some of the casinos between Bill's and Venetian may also have decent games for BS blackjack (Flamingo, IP, Harrah's, Casino Royale, etc.) but I rarely visit them.

(4) Just so you know, most of the pools at Caesars Palace were or are under renovation; they weren't expected to be open until September. The remaining pools - the Neptune Pool, the Temple Pool, and the topless one - were ridiculously crowded. If you chose CP because of the pools, you might want to reconsider.

Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay all have this game. Usually it is $25 minimum, but it goes up on busy times. Wynn has this game at a $25 minimum on graveyard. Invest in an issue of Current Black Jack News before you go; it will save you a lot of time searching for this game.
