Go calculate. But is there any casino that utilises this rules? Don't think so.

I think most casinos do not allow early surrender against an ace and some only allow it against a 10, which increases the house edge a little bit. You should find out exactly what the rules are.

Full Early Surrender is available at some casinos in Egypt, Western Africa, Vancouver, and a few casinos in France. I believe it was also available in Moscow. I believe the last two casinos offering ES in the US, in Colorado, have closed. ES10 you can find in France, Panama and a few other places.

I briefly considered playing some blackjack in Cairo when I went to visit, but balked because the casinos looked shady as hell. Have you actually played in Egypt? What was it like?

No I haven't. I have users that have played in all the places I mentioned without any reported difficulties.

This article is from 2003 but it's still pretty interesting;

Thanks!

A lot of that article was pretty funny, especially about Egyptians trying to "rip off" tourists. It's actually not that bad compared to places in sub-Saharan Africa where the tourist-to-local rate ratio is 10:1 or even 100:1. Once you realize that people really mean no ill will (nor do they take offense to theatrics during negotiation), it's fine, really. Tipping (baksheesh) is ubiquitous, and Egyptians do it to other Egyptians as well.

The part about empty casinos was entirely the reason why I was so unnerved. Walking into a casino where everyone was staring at you just felt really, really weird. That, and having the average Egyptian's yearly salary in my pocket (although over time we realized that criminal thievery in Egypt is just incredibly rare - they just prefer to obtain your cash by making you pay for everything).

If I went back, maybe I'd give blackjack a shot, particularly at Sharm El Sheik, where the hotels are much more Las Vegas Strip-like. The hotels in Cairo were much more Las Vegas downtown-like. Even the "four star" hotel we stayed in was worse than most Motel 6's in the U.S.
