Corned Beef sandwiches
I am going to NYC in September can anyone steer me to a good Kosher resturant ? How about the people on the board that are from NYC. Maybe the guy who said this "Whats next? A rant about the bignosed jews who run the casinos"? He is from NYC. He should have a good handle on Kosher stuff first hand.

Living in NYC,I do have a handle on a few great kosher spots. For once, you are correct. My favorite is either Bens or Kosher King. Both are in Queens. Bens in Forest Hills,KK in Lake Success,on the Nassau border.

If MAX's(I think thats the name, it's been years) is still around on Delancy Street, Manhattan side of the Williamsburg Bridge. They give free samples while they make your sandwich...Give them a buck and you'll be full before you get your order! Don't forget the Deli Mustard....yum yum....
Theres a Bens in Baldwin also... Nassau.
Don't forget the Hard Kosher Salami... It's been hanging for weeks and is like a rock...absolutely delicious.....

Oh yes the name of the place is Katz... and Hard Salami is when they take a regular "bullet" Hebrew National Salami and hang it from the ceiling. They hang it for a few weeks until the fat drips out and the salami dries out. As the fat drips out the salami gets Hard. We used to do it at home, but hung it in a closet inside a brown paper bag (old world way). About 1 month later it's perfect!

If you go to a good kosher deli, ask for the "Butt End" of the corn beef if you want healthy. It cost a bit more and there is practically zero fat.
