Default When At A Casino...

Ok I have been practicing BS and counting for quite some time now and I think i am ready for the Casinos. But I have question, when you go to a Casino do you watch tables until they get "hot" or do you just sit down and bet low and then once the count goes positive you bet bigger according to count?

Thanks for the help, Jamepb

Depends on the game.

If it's no midshoe entry, the answer is obvious. Sit down at the start, and leave if the count goes negative.

If you are permitted to come and go, it depends on bet level, crowds, tolerance of the casino, etc. Some places, I backcount until it's positive, then sit down and play. If crowded, there's nothing worse then getting ready to jump in, and the last seat gets taken, just as you're ready to move. In that case, sit down when the shoe starts, and again, depending on what the casino tolerates, you may be able to just sit at the table and skip some hands if it goes negative, then come back in when you're ready.

I agree with above. I would add entering anywhere from the beginning of shoe thru TC2 is commonly used. Leaving anywhere from positive RC thru -2TC is also commonly talked about. One can change it up based on conditions or camoflauge as mentioned above.
