Specials/deals?

#1
Next weekend I'm (finally) going to Vegas for fun, and expect to be playing plenty of blackjack. I haven't been playing long enough to get invited by the casinos for special deals, so I'm wondering if there are any particularly notable things I should know of, special promos, or must-sees. My gal and I count together, may play as a team, etc.

Also, any recs for a decent shoe game for fun and profit? Mostly red-green chipper, minimal wonging. MGM used to be the place but I heard it's now H17 (not a dealbreaker but still). I did well at the Wynn last time I was there ($15min/H17/surr/decent pen) and may return, but something better would be excellent.

I just returned from a Vegas trip with a non-counting, for the most part, non-gambling friend of mine and we made some pretty good money using coupons and sign-up promotions. If you're going to the strip both Hooters and Planet Hollywood offer $25 matchplays when you sign up for their card. The best sign-up promotion I found was at the Stations casinos. When you sign up for their card ask for a copy of My Stations magazine. This month the magazine offers a $25 dollar matchplay and 5X slot points coupon at each of their casinos. They have 7 in all located mostly on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Also there's a good slot promotion if you are a Nevada resident.

Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. That was true for the July coupons but management wised up and realized they can't let people print matchplay coupons online. If you go to the August issue of My Stations online the coupons are all voided.

The coupons also require you to have a Stations card and limit it to one use per person. When you use the coupon the pit boss records you used it in the system. However, many times dealers don't read the fine print and just take it so if you have more than one you shouldn't have too much problem using them.
