Legally they can ask you to leave or 86 you. Illegally I guess anything is possible. There are multiple accounts of backrooming's and false arrests. Here is one very public story.

The worst....
We have had people who posted on this site have some pretty bad stuff happen to them. I advise you not to play near the beaches or boardwalk, and stay away from the desserts and mountains. blackchipjim

The worst possible scenario is that a crooked pit boss has Mafia ties and hires a hit man to kill your family and take back the money you won, they shoot you in the kneecaps for fun, and then a meteor hits your house and you die crawling around on your living room floor.
The worst possible scenario that actually happens with any regularity is that you get banned from the casino and all its sister properties.

And if you're in AC, you might get dragged into the ocean, like one of our (ex?) forum members.

Worse case!
The pit boss comes up to you and says no more blackjack for you. You can play anyother game but no blackjack. The casinos are sore losers.

All right, here is the worst that happened to me. I've been asked to stop playing and/or leave the casino by people in suits about two dozen times. I've been told to leave and escorted to the door about a half dozen times by people in uniforms. One time they pushed me with their chests. Unfortunately they all were male.
There are others who have been framed up for arrests (like Grosjean), those who have had their cars towed in retaliation by Indian casinos, thrown out of their rooms in the middle of their night, and shadowed by the police after they left the casino. Nobody here will guarantee none of those things will ever happen to you. Also, security guards are the dregs of the workforce and there's always the possibility one of them will go off with violence in any confrontation.
My best advice is to keep yourself clean, no pot no pills no warrants no suspended license, so that a bogus charge can not lead into a legitimate charge if you are ever arrested. Also a little bit of self-defense and conflict avoidance/resolution knowledge will go a long way in keeping you safe out there, in and out of casinos. And never, ever go into a back room or a restroom with casino personnel.

At corporate casinos recently? Or are all these incidents solely at Indian casinos or in the distant past?
I honestly have a hard time believing that publicly-traded corporations would be so bold, unless you're winning so much from the casino that a multimillion dollar lawsuit would actually be cheaper for the company than letting you win.

The corporation isn't that stupid. But the GED who BS'ed his way into a management or security job might be. These people are idiots. Maybe even borderline retarded at the lowest levels. There are surely security people who saw the 21 movie and now believe that's the way they're supposed to be behaving.
None of this would be written policy anywhere, just an action taken by some guy with a little bit of power plus psychological problems.
