Over/Under 13

Have been a BS for a couple years now. As a college student I don't have the bankroll that I would like in order to be able to become a successful AP. $2,000 is a safe estimate as to what my bankroll is after ALL the expenditures of a college student take into effect (rent, food, bills, alcohol, money milking gf, etc).

After reading several different books I have decided to go with the High-Low system. It will take some time before I can perfect the intricacies of being an AP, ie. converting to the TC, camoflauge, betting spreads, indexes, etc.

So here is my question: Would it be wise if I flat bet at a table while using only the crush count for the over/under side. Say I flat bet the table minimum of $5, and another $5 on the over/under whenever the crush count called says to do so. I figure this way I can practice counting two different counts at the same time (high low and crush) while not causing attention by using a bet spread. What are your thoughts on this idea?

But you should practice at home and not in the casino, maybe later if you feel comfortable with your counts to get a feeling for the environment and the distractions.

My thought is where is there an over/under 13 side bet being offered without a CSM?

With the Ubalo count, do I need to start the running count at a negative according to the number of decks being played?

I realize that this following piece of advice is unsolicited, but I'd suggest not playing blackjack right now. Take all the effort you'd otherwise spend in blackjack, and kick some ass in your courses. When you graduate, negotiate an extra week of vacation and use your signing bonus as a bankroll. Card counting will be a lot more enjoyable when it's not a crappy part-time job, which it will be with a bankroll of $2,000 ($5-$10/hr).
