LV Coupons

Are there still quality BJ coupons to be had in LV? I heard casinos stopped putting match-plays and BJ pays 2 to 1 for an hour coupons into their Fun Books. Is it still profitable to scrounge coupons for AP?

Thanks

Interesting timing. I just finished laying out my coupons for my Setember trip.
At a cost of just under $60,I have $350 in matchplays,a $60 buys $100 coupon, two Fist Card is An Ace $10 coupons, over $100 in free slot play, and a line on seven spots I'll be in that sell WIN cards-either $15for $10 or $30 for $20.
Thats from one on-line LVA membership and two American
Casino Guides.

Thanks Shadroch! Looks like LVA is still supporting the BJ players with some decent coupons. Sounds like you need to expand yourself to other games and coupons to really do the AP thing right. How about the specific hotels and the Fun Books that they give away? Are they mostly filled with crap or can you still find a few quality BJ plays?

Back in the day coupon hustling was alot of work (driving around) but it was well worth it and most casinos offered a ton of BJ coupons. The once great Golden Gate coupons come to mind.

Almost any bookstore I've visited in the past two years has had a copy of the American Casino Guide available for viewing - you can see exactly what coupons you're getting (and then purchase the book on Amazon for a discount).

You can view the coupons on line.
Hooters,Tropicana,Planet Hollywood,Hard Rock,Strat,Circus Circus,Sahara and Terribles all give Match plays as part of a funbook or sheet. Some are one time( Hooters,$25),some are weekly( Strat,BJ pays double),the rest are in between.
El Cortez gives out of staters two funbooks containing a $5 MP,$5 free slot play and a $5 discount on food. You need to email them in advance.
Many casinos give small amounts of free slot play($5-15) to new members, some give additional for giving an email.
Best offers I'm currently aware of are Arizona Charlies which will refund $100 in slot losses to new members on their first day. Harrahs does the same ,only its bounceback cash where Arizona gives you cash.

I think you have to play 30 minutes, but am not certain. I was ineligible because I had previously signed up for a Strat card. They are related and thus I wasn't a new member.

The Arizona Charlie's promotion has changed from what is printed in American Casino Guide. Now instead of simply refunding your losses up to a hundred with cash they refund it with free slot play. For example if you lose a hundred on the first day, the next day they'll give you $100 of free slot play on your card.

Rampart and Stations also have very good slot play sign up bonuses if you're a Nevada resident, have a Nevada ID.

Do you feel the coupons are worth as much as before when gas prices weren't as high?

of course there is your time running between properties, but any thoughts regarding gas costs?

just wondering...

The price of gas is just part of normal travel expenses. You can reduce them by doing all the typical things: planning efficient routes, carpooling, paying cash, etc.

The only gas promotion I know of is at the Terribles in Prim off the 15 at the California line. If you buy gas there and sign up for their Terribles card they'll refund you up to $20 with free slot play. If you're traveling with more than one person be sure to fill up with multiple payments, you might have to go inside and pay cash, because they will only accept one person per receipt.

Does anyone else know any gas promotions?

Interesting. Maybe they switched it because of people doing what I posted.

For a free pull at the $100 slots, I'd make the trip out there. :)

I haven't changed my ways. One afternoon,I'll hit Rampart($25 MP POV,2 $20 ACG MPs and some free slots, scoot next door for 2 $5 MPs at Suncoast, then wander back stopping at Arizona Decauter,Rancho Fiesta,Texas Station. Thats about a $60 EV plus some free slot play. I'll eat at either Rampart( 50% off buffet POV) or Texas Station( same deal).I'll play a little at either Rampart or Fiesta.Perhaps I'll spend $5 on gas.
I wouldn't do this if I was only in town for three days,but I'm not,so I do.
I really like Rampart, but they don't offer me free rooms. Fiesta and Stations do,so I give them a bit of play.

Terribles in Vegas and El Cortez have gas promos. Terribles works well if you are a local.
Tropicana Express in Laughlin sent me a postcard saying they give double slot play,up to $150 for a gas receipt dated within 48 hours. Bring in a receipt for $50,get $100 free play. $75 gets $150. I'm not sure of all the details, but their people are very helpful whenever I call them. They send out a lot of poorly worded promo cards.

POV Shad help please!

Sorry this is probably something I should be able to figure out on my own, but what is POV. I know what ACG and LVA stand for, but not POV. Thanks

Don't forget about the $25 match play at Fiesta Henderson or Rancho as well in the POV (baseball: POV stands for Pocketbook of Values, the coupon book you get with a LVA membership). Fiesta will even let you double for the matchplay, which I've seen a lot of places not let you do.
