Vegas Trip

Just got back from 4 day trip. I can't believe how much the games are starting to vary. Luxor had a bunch of single deck games, 6-5 and never dealt more than twice per deck even if playing alone. Avoid this like the plague! Never really paid to much attention to the strip casinos other than this b/c I stayed here part of my trip and downtown the other part. There are still some good games downtown. The trip ended up pretty well, brought a $2,000 bankroll for the 4 days and finished up $400 after some pretty big swings.

It wasn't near as busy this time as it was in May or December/January. I think the economy is hurting in LV just like most places. Traffic wasn't bad, typically we go up industrial, koval, or paradise rather than the strip. We decided to take the strip from Wynn down to Luxor. It took about 12 minutes, which isn't terrible for a Saturday.

As far as downtown, Binion's games were not up to par for many reasons, same with sam's. Goldengate, Vegas club, The dirty spaniard, and Fitz had some decent games that can be played if you find the right one. Also, Monte Carlo had like 4-5 tables in a certain area with some really good rules:joker:

bjcounter,

Glad you had a positive trip. I just got back from Vegas yesterday and also stayed at the Wynn . . . nice place, huh?! You are right on about the (lack of) crowds this past weekend, had no problems finding a seat, even for elusive heads-up action. I played exclusively DD S17 DOA DAS NS at Mirage and Luxor. The notch where the plastic SC was placed cut off 40-41 cards; including the first burn card this made for approximately 60% pen which wasn't great but the game was beatable :) Spread 1-5. I thought this was a much better game than the 6:5 garbage and obviously, the shoes. Only differences were that Luxor dealt face down and was NM; both places were $25 min. I think this is well worth checking out the next time you go. Where were the good games in Monte Carlo? I walked around there a couple times and didn't see anything real compelling.
