It *could* be slanted... but based on the reading I have done over the past three months, I think it is likely accurate.

Here's another good one to watch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

Unfortunately, as much as I believe democrats to be the ringleaders of this obscene scam, republicans are likely equally to blame. If not, they would be screaming this from the rooftops and making a serious political killing.

Maybe a handful sounded the warning bells, but precious few on either side were listening. And now we're all $17,000 plus in the hole.

Throw ALL of them out.

I find it hard to watch all the guilty politicians on Capitol Hill--patting each other on the back, praising each other for a job well done, praising Barney Fart, blaming the Bush administration for its failed policies (Pelosi)--before and after they passed the bailout. I enjoyed watching Bill O'Reilly nail Barney on the Factor, but a lot of good it does the American taxpayer. Maybe we ought to tar and feather these people and run them out of Washington--I can see them running for their lives up Route 95 toward Baltimore. lmao I'll bring the feathers--anyone got tar? I think a few NBC execs should be included as well for providing cover. Maybe we should compile a list of candidates for the tarring. Anyone got a list of guilty parties. This is one sentence the next President won't be able to commute. lol

Aslan - I don't think you and I agree on much, but on this one we're good. You bring the tar and feathers, I'll supply the torches and pitchforks.

I don't know what it's going to take, but I think we are moving towards a scary moment in American history. There are a lot of stupid people out here, but the one thing they do understand is being financially raped by their government. Try $17,064 per household and counting.

These loans were a joke. They never should have been made. Yet politicians (mostly democrats but some republicans) made them happen. They gave away money and bought votes. And it's happening again. Obama was implicit in much of this as a "Community Organizer with the group ACORN and now he's doing it again...

He promises a tax break for 90% of Americans, but 50% of Americans pay no taxes. So how do you give those people a tax break? Probably in the form of a check. Again, we're passing around money and buying votes. WHERE DOES IT STOP?

Federal and state government MUST STOP SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN THEY TAKE IN, unless we are in a formally declared state of war or other true national state of emergency.

Pay down the debt and QUIT SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE.

And before you just say I am some anti-Obama republican hack, I *am* anti-Obama, but I stopped calling myself a Republican several years ago when lawmakers could not contain themselves fiscally and were SPENDING like the other side, they lost my vote and the votes of millions of other Americans. That's why the GOP suffered such huge losses in 2006. It wasn't the war.

They have had 2 years to figure it out, and they still don't know what the problem is. So the left is smart and greedy and the right is stupid and greedy. THEY ALL NEED TO GO.

Anyone think it's strange there has been a huge run on guns and safes in the U.S. over the past 30 days? Weird...

Apparently, we agree more than we thought. I am a registered democrat (lol) but have not voted for a democrat since John Kennedy. I call myself an Independent, so you might see me liberal on one issue and conservative on another. I am pro-life, but on the other hand, I am for a number of social justice issues, which usually find more support on the liberal side. Currently what we need is fiscal conservatism as espoused by Sarah Palin, but of course, she will likely have no influence on fiscal policy.

Maybe an Obama victory is just what we need, the sooner we get the economic collapse underway, the sooner we'll be back on our feet. His idea to raise taxes on the top 5% ought to go a long way toward that end. The corporations can then accelerate layoffs, raise prices, and basically freeze the economy in its tracks, while Obama levies taxes higher and higher on a smaller and smaller economy, to fund all his grandiose social programs--almost-universal healthcare (Obama doesn't like the term universal healthcare; I think he wants to distinguish his form of insanity from Hillary's), expanded education, expanded social security and medicare, increased funding for anti-terrorism and the military (because terrorism and eventual new military action will definitely increase under his soft-handed and self-righteous approach [surrender in Iraq, enemy nation appeasement, inaction where no coalitions can be formed, mindless nuclear disarmament, greater UN prominence), wasteful spending in alternative energy areas that are not ready for development, wasteful funding of too many green issues and failure to develop US resources due to over-attention to green issues. I'm not saying McCain wouldn't claim several of the mentioned issues as well. But I think death of the economy is slower under the republicans than under the democrats, so we might as well get it started, although I will personally vote for a slower death and perhaps pray for a miracle, such as an early death for President McCain, with the subsequent inauguration of Sarah Palin. Anything beats the status quo (Bush), except of course, a backwards direction (Obama).
