Default congrats to GM today

on their lowest market cap {3,6 billion} since 1924 - way to go Waggoner ! I also congratulate you on the lowest per share stock price since 1952 - yes you are turning the company around big time . Guess that 25 Billion the tax payers lent the auto companies is going to vanish as well !!!! I have been out of the stock market all except for 10,000 shares of National City Bank I bought at $1.68 a share last week for basically 3 years . Timing is everything folks !!!!!!!

General Motors is a good buy, they're paying over 13% dividends!

Default for how long ??????

they are going down big time ! Will they survive ? I personally do not think the government can let them go out but if you bail them out too you might as well send everybody a check for $1,000,000.00 and tell them to enjoy !!!!!A surprise too was Ford - lowest since 1941 - lol!!!! Make crappy cars and SUV's and then you wonder why you are going down the tubes ???? Course gas guzzlers are where the profit was and I say was . Gas here is $2.96 a gallon for regular . Peoples habits have changed and the american automakers did not seem to notice .The dividend will be the first thing to go as well under any refi agreements - bank on it !!!

I gotta disagree with you there. I think that the recent GM stock plummet isn't based on any new information, but rather just the panic and wild market volatility following the financial collapse. Even if GM were a high risk stock, which I don't think it is, 13% return is still better than most junk bonds.

Default very true

but I think people finally wised up they are way behind in the world auto racwe and the big fact is that very few can get credit as well which is hurting all manufacturers. I would buy it maybe tomorrow if itgets killed or ford tomorrow on the close - maybe 10,000 shares and take a flyer on it .

Don't blame them. Larouche says that they represent the best of the physical tool and machinery-based industry America has, and that they were targeted for disinigration. Dismanteling the very capacity that lies at Her bedrock. zg

As a company's free cash melts away, so does the dividend. I'm a divy guy myself, but no cash = no div.
