Well I went to the Borg and stayed in their new water club hotel. Wow those rooms are nice!! Playing blackjack there was even nicer except for the penetration which I'm sad to report but has in fact reverted back to 66-75% as other people reported. That said, the very first shoe I had was the kind of shoe you can spend a whole night waiting for. Positive count right off the bat and for the whole rest of the shoe too. I quickly was up a lot (someone want to tell me how many standard deviations it would be above what's expected if I was using a 1-6 spread and was 20 units up after just the first shoe and ended up about 18 units after 3 hrs. With every game of blackjack, there are always stories that seem to come with the territory. You know I never thought I'd see the same woman at the same table that I saw last time I was there. This led to umm even more conversation about random things. I don't know about you fellow ap's, but I prefer to be able to concentrate fully on the game. It was also heaven having the smoking ban in effect as I felt I could actually breathe in at any point in the casino without being subjected to poison. BTW, I saw ZERO evidence showing that the smoking ban is affecting the amount of players coming to the casino. Believe it or not, for about 1/4 of the time, I was able to play two sports when the count got good at the table :) Granted this was pretty late at night. Do you think of this as being rude, if I were to ask someone if they could play the sport furthest from me that's open vs. the spot next to me that's open? Granted they probably thought I was implying that they smelled or something lol.
I also played a little at the TAJ but they have wrecked what was once a good BJ venue for AC that is. It was $15 minimums with hit s17, 8 decks and 75% penetration. I left after one shoe. Sometims it's hard to keep your cool when you see ploppies standing on 15 vs 8, standing on a6 vs a dealer 5 (despite me saying are u SURE YOU WANT TO STAND ON 7?!!!!!) not splitting his 6's vs a dealer 5 and here's the funniest, a guy standing on 16 vs an ace who ACTUALLY had a BS chart on him but for some reason decided not to conult it until I mentioned to him that he really should hit that. For once, I'd love to sit at a table where everyone knew how to play BS at the minimum but I don't think that will ever happen. BTW, the pitbosses at the TAJ are full of sh-t!!! Pitboss caught me rasing my bet over $100 and was standing over me so I said to him I'm using the martingale system, make sure you get this bet in your computer :p He said he's never heard of it before and he's been in the business for 26 years. He also mentioned to me that they don't adjust their rating of you based on average bet size but rather what your initial bet is. Well crazy me kept using the martingale system until he chuckled and left a few hands later. It actually worked out pretty well for me since the count was good at the time. BTW, for those of you who can shuffle track, some of the dealers at the TAJ don't do an expanded version of shuffling like I've seen at the other casinos which can make this pretty profitable.

In the future, please use paragraphs and line spaces. It makes reading a lot easier.

There have been plenty of times I've asked an adjacent player to move over one spot, so I can play two. Only once has a player refused, and that was because they didn't want meto play two spots and ruin the sacred flow.

Yes, Taj sucks. Last time I was there they were cutting about 3 decks on Spanish 21!

I was in AC the morning that the smoking ban went into effect 12 hours earlier at midnight. The difference in the air quality was amazing. Too bad the ban will end next week.

What's the scope of table mins around 7am at the Borg on an odd Thursday morning? (i'd imagine most 15, with some 10's)? How many Borg points did you earn during that time (include any points you ate or bought)? I still think you'r wrong about the smell; the taj and ballysac still has that slight smoke smell. They need to use glassplus on the slots, and use fabric cleansers with nice smells on carpets and chairs. Given that October has 31 days, AC will not see the full effects of the ban on their balance sheets (plus if it's only several days temp ban and with our economy). Maybe our daily regulars at Fw/Mo can update us on crowd control during the few days AC has smoking ban. byt, if you asked me to play 2 spots, i would say no and do it myself. (depending on my roll at the time and count).

There usually are about like oh I don't know 4 $10 tables and one $5 table at that time. Usually playing at a $10 table, you'll earn about $2 or so an hour in comps.
