If the Democrats win both Congress and the White House, don't you worry, you'll be getting your bribe, er, bailout, er, stimulus check soon enough.

Didn't the Republican President, backed by the Republican House and Senate, send out the last two stimulus checks?

In fact, I believe when the current Republican President first took office, his biggest problem and immediate main focus was getting rid of all the extra money that the Evil Clinton had accumulated. Remember his first $600 check when he first took office? Had to get rid of all that nasty money in the treasury that the Dems had accumulated. Evil Clinton was running a surplus!!! the horror! the horror!

The refund in 2002 (?) was not a stimulus check. It was an advance on a tax cut - that is, you had to (or were supposed to) deduct the $600 from your tax rebate when you filed your taxes for that year.

The stimulus check earlier this year was a Republican President and a Democratic Congress (since Lieberman caucuses with the Democrats I consider the Senate to be Democratic-controlled).

Never the less, it is a Democratic Congress right now pushing for a second stimulus check and President Bush who is opposing it. Since the public likes getting checks in the mail, it's safe to assume that an Obama presidency would start off with a stimulus check.

Democrats love to tax and spend. Republicans don't tax, but spend anyway.
